Stumbled upon a CRT reservation and I nabbed it!

We just made our 180 reservations on Wednesday. We secured all the restaurants we want, but not necessarily all the times we wanted, so with that I keep checking to see if there are better times. On my ADR day, out of curiosity, I did check to see if CRT was open -- nope nothing for any of my days. Which this was fine as we were not planning on dining there.

So here I am today checking on the restaurants at MK, when all of a sudden I see CRT for 5:30 - I couldn't believe my eyes. It wasn't a reservation we were planning (at least this trip), but I had to snag it. I figured it was a sign that we should eat there.

I guess stalking can turn up the almost unattainable reservations. So just keep looking!

I have been seeing quite a few CRT dinners available for the week of Thanksgiving for the last few days open up. Even saw a few BOG dinners available. I am very surprised.

My dining opens up on June 25th and I am praying to the dining gods I can get CRT for Christmas Eve.... I know it is going to be difficult, but one can hope can't they.

We liked our dinner at CRT! I thought the food was very good. We even saw a proposal the night we were there. So romantic!!

Same for me! I thought I had my dining all planned out how I liked it, but Friday was just looking through to see what was available Oct. 31st since we are going to MNSSHP and saw a 4PM for CRT that day. Needless to say I grabbed it too. Same thing happened the week before for BOG. Didn't get it on initial booking, but really wanted a dinner there, so I kept looking and finally found one. :) I've already apologized to my husband numerous times for the amount of character meals we are going to have on this trip...lol

I started making ours on Friday for our late November & December stay. I'm surprised at the availability for our dates so far. This is the first year I've had a choice for 'Ohana, CRT, BOG, Garden Grill(years ago this was an easy one but not that last few), and several others. I'm not sure what's going on but I'm not complaining!!!!

There is no such thing as too many character meals at Disney. :)

I suspect what might have happened is that people made those dining reservations hoping to add Free Dining to their planned Thanksgiving travel, and the dates did not quite work because this year free dining is only available for stays starting the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Or in BOG's case, maybe they had free dining for the week after thanksgiving but are not willing to burn 2 credits at BOG since they booked it assuming a single credit before it changed to "Signature" status.

I've never once booked at the 180 day mark (earliest I've booked is 3 months in advance, usually much shorter), and out of four trips have gotten CRT three times (one PPO breakfast two lunch), and BOG once for dinner and four times for PPO breakfast. But the, I enjoy checking dining times obsessively on the app. Glad you were there at the right time!

That's great, although CRT isn't that difficult to get anymore.

I'm not sure if this statement is necessarily correct - I went back and checked every day of my trip lunch and dinner and there is nothing - of course 3 out of 4 nights MVMCP is going on so the restaurant is really only "open" until 6pm for regular park guests. On other nights there might be the occasional dinner reservation but at 10-11pm -- so it doesn't really work for a family with kids.

It really does pay to stalk reservations or use the touring plans reservation finder because I am sure so many times people book and end up changing their plans multiple times before the trip happens -- you just never know.

I grabbed one last night! We have never eaten there before. We changed our dates and are coming in late one night which gave us an extra credit to use. So when I saw it I was excited and grabbed it!
