Stuff on sale for one Day?

I need some of the (coughs) ancient VMKers out there to give me background.

When was the last time something was released for one day only? (this excludes one day quests and holiday pins for signing on)

I have been playing vmk for about a year and it seems like the gold straw hat has been out forever! Then yesterday they take away all the royal stuff pretty quickly considering how long Alice stuff has been out. I have pretty much gotten used to buying my stuff right away just in case. However, I was wondering if in the past there had been a one day sale?

Will they do it again?

correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the red HKDL shirt was one day only. that's all i can think of atm.

Grey mansion was a one day thing, and I believe Minnie was less than an hour.

I really wish they would do more of the one-day only sales. That helps the virtual economy in vmk, in my opinion. When things are left on sale for weeks and months at a time, they are as worthless in the virtual world as they are in the real world. Nobody wants to trade for those things, so there is a very limited number of things that people will trade for. It's very difficult to "trade up" when there are two main categories of items: worthless and very high demand.

I believe Red HKDL shirts were only sold for an hour, due too a bug that made them look like baseball shirts.

Let me get my cane. Back in the ye olden days of vmk we had several one day items:

Grey Mansion - 10/31/2005
HK Disneyland Poster (Green) - 9/12/2005
HK Disneyland White Pin - 9/12/2005
HK Red Disneyland Shirt - 9/12/2005
ATIS Quest Pins - One pin per day per quest on a weekend I believe - 4/2006

I think that is it, please correct me if you have a better date.

I totally agree with you, Goofy. However, it just strikes me funny that we are having these conversations about a virtual reality!

Regarding the minnie hat - only an hour? Can anyone confirm this? Why just an hour? That seems like alot of work to put one item out for one hour - a day seems more reasonable.

Did they advertise that mansion would be on sale for one day only (kind like they advertised double credit day for pirates - yesterday)?


BTW - Cyre - I think what VMK needs is.... a cowbell! (I love that skit! hilarious doesn't do it justice)

Yes minnie was placed in the stores for an hour by mistake, some people bought them and I dont believe VMK took them away. It was re-released soon after for a weekend.

That's correct, Granny.

VMK allowed those who purchased the hats in advance to keep them, and then did a weekend-only release soon after. I think if Minnie was not about to be released right away, VMK would have taken the items back, as they've done with the Davey Jones costume, as well as the Mickey rug and Mickey table accidently released in the game.

ATIS pins were 1 day only on April 28-30, 2006.

If we are counting 1 day quests, "rurple" baseball costume falls in here too.

Hat was 1 day.
Top was 1 day.
Pants were 1 day.

I seem to recall the Green 50th Director's Chair was released for a single day during Summer of '06, July perhaps... I can't quite recall the occasion (being so old, of course), but I'm thinking it was either for DLR's 50th or VMK's 1st B-Day. Or maybe it was Independence Day?

And in regards to the Fourth of July. They had the "Flag Hat" Ears for sale I think for only one day 07/04/06 right? But then they did sell those again this summer too, right? So nevermind on that.

I completely agree with what GoofyGeggy says about the Virtual Market values. You can't trade up with only two values.

Oh, good memory! Memorial Day Weekend 2006, Friday-Monday. One quest/item per day. Baseball shoes were one day too. The Monday Quest as I recall.

Gwarsh, those were difficult quests.
