Studios Overload, a Pop Mishap and One Smooth Talking Hubby FINAL DAY UP. PG 68

well here we are. I have now officially started a reply to your TR three times now. I've been pretty much afk from the boards for about six weeks - work is mega crazy and home is almost as nuts. But I need me a Disney fix so here I am again. I have no idea where I left off so I'm just starting over with it ;-] What I lack in keeping up on TRs, I make up for with endlessly babbling when I do reply

Day 1! Great pics from the airport with Trent falling out of the plane. Bummer about the flight, but great score with getting that 4th floor room you wanted. You really know your way around the transportation system. I can understand the quick run around EPCOT with so little sleep, but at least you got to feel some Disney fun right out of the box. Love the C3PO potato head - lol

Nice to come back to your room and have your luggage there. Cool of Steve to do the unpacking while you and Trent enjoyed the pool. Trent has a good idea for hotel room photography ;-] Cool fireworks pics too, they are hard to capture for sure. That 4th floor room had a great view of them though.

Good toys at DTD and I'm glad you got to look around the store. Glad lunch worked out at the food court, I want to try one of those meatball subs. And Trent's first time at Indiana Jones - very cool! And Star Tours with the Bro-in-law, what a great bonus :)

We got the cowboy for GMR, he was fun. 70 min for TSM, sounds about righ. I sure wish they'd redesign that ride with a FP lane. But glad you had fun waiting though and congrats for winning. Those pics of Trent with potato head will make a great visual timeline – keep it up! Capture him from wee one to full grown with the spud :-D Nice pics from Indiana Jones too, glad Trent enjoyed it. We were bummed when we went because something went wrong and they weren’t able to do the final stunt with the plane :headache:

Sounds like getting in to MK was a hassle and a half, but it is always worth it. I had the same camera malfunctions the night we went to see Spectro at MK – battery died on the good camera, no film for the 35mm, and the camcorder didn’t want to start up. Plus I had accidentally steered us onto the wrong monorail an unnecessary spin around EPCOT – lolol.

I’m glad Trent finally got to experience BTMRR …and at night even! Wow, Steve is really good at Buzz Blasters! Good call taking time to relax with chocolate and watch the fireworks. And big score getting the fantasyland rides as walk on during the parade – Whoohoo! Good finish with Pirates and it is every boy’s (young or old) obligation to have a sword fight in the gift shop pirate:

Nice that the CMs were letting groups go through the parade while it was going on, never seen them do that. Great flashback pics to make up for not having many from that evening. I especially like the one of you and Trent with all of the flowers in the background :goodvibes

Day 3! Good call with getting the stroller for Trent, make all the difference doesn’t it? Sounds like you had fun in The Land. Strange that Trent took a pass on seeing the Caballeros. But you can’t miss Maelstrom. Don’t know if you watch the show or not, but I heard they have a bunch of Deadliest Catch merchandise there for Sig Hansen and his crew in the Norway Pavilion.

Good call getting Trent settled at the Thomas the Tank Engine set so y’all could relax and stay dry and cool that you ran into Alice. What the heck was up with the Rose and Crown seating you outside in the rain????? OMG, the nerve of them. And adding bad service and mediocre food to the situation, I certainly understand you giving it the thumbs down. Good finish with SE and Soarin though.

Oh noooo! What a bummer stepping into that lake-sized puddle. Yay for your hubby stepping up and ironing your jeans dry! Wow, what a cool DISMeet! How wonderful that you got to meet up with so many of the group from the “lifers” thread …hehehe. Closed the place down, didja? Trent is a master photographer for sure! :)

Day 4! Yuck about the tub – not something you want to wake up to. The lobby at ALK looks gorgeous – wow. Built in entertainment with the “tall guy” while you were waiting, guess that would make the time go faster. Glad the breakfast was good there. DHS is a nice alternate on a rainy day. AK sure isn’t built for it unless you want to just tag-team shows and the Dinosaur ride.

That is such a nice bonus that you get to see family while you are there – Trent looked like he was having a good time goofing around with his uncle :-] Back to EPCOT and SE again I see. I’m so happy that your experience at Biergarten was so much better than Rose and Crown the day before. Too bad about them not having grilled cheese for Trent. Ahhh, the joys of the finicky eater. Glad you came back to a clean tub.

Day 5! Ugh, the tub nastiness continues. Can’t wait to see what happens with that mess. That is so funny that your Mommy and Me day had you going back to DHS. Bean and I did our Daddy and Me day there too. Of course she is a bit older and more extreme so we spent a bunch of time on RnRC and ToT.

More Indy of course and I’m glad he enjoyed LMA, it is a fun show to watch. Great shot of the flames rising off the stunt man! Good finish there with your hubby joining you for Star Tours and the Backlot Tour.

Wow, quite the blizzard y’all had! My kids would have LOVED it.

You know, we never had the opportunity to take a boat while we were at WDW. Have to make sure our park-hopping plans include at least one boat ride next time. What goobers that couple were, trying to take over a big table for themselves. Glad the CMs took care of it for you. Sounds like it was a really nice meal …you’ll have to let Steve know that he’s supposed to start with the lightest colored beer in the sampler as their tastes get stronger the darker you go. If you have a light one later you won’t really taste it. I live in the land of the microbrew and am an old friend of beer samplers :lmao: Nice surprise with John showing up and that performer sounded like a blast to watch on the boardwalk.

The Osbourne lights looked amazing as usual, still have to experience those in person. Awww, you didn’t get a pic of the custodial staff doing the electric slide? Nice when people can make work fun like that.

Kudos to Steve for his work with the front desk staff. Sounds like he handled it perfectly – not yelling or getting angry, but being loud and direct enough to let them know you meant business :thumbsup2 Saratoga Springs Suite – MAJOR SCORE!!!!! What a mad scramble to get packed up. Sounds like the manager really stepped up by escorting y’all personally in a DVC van. And what service getting you checked in, the balloon, and then the golf cart ride to your room – Whoohoo! Gorgeous room and a wonderful view.

Day 6! Sounds like you had a nice restful night and a fun mini adventure getting to the Poly to meet Carla and Chris. What fun with the dining plan mess – yay for Steve still having a card in his wallet from Pop. What a booger of a waiter, good for you for camping out at the table.

How wonderful that MK wasn’t crowded, and wait – I thought Trent rode BTMRR the other night at MK? I must have mistaken him riding another train ride for riding it. Ah well, glad he got to ride it either way! Oh how funny that Trent hid under the table when the characters came near. I guess it will save you $$$ in paying the premium for character meals for a couple of years :goodvibes

Sounds like this trip had a lot of firsts for Trent with him going on SM for the first time too. Glad you didn’t lose your glasses ;) Nice finish with Astro Orbiter and glad the guys came out to help you find your way back to the suite at SSR. Good end to the evening being able to kick back and chat with family.

Last Day! Hey, I’m only two days behind you posts now ROFL! And you should know that I promised myself I’d do this reply before I faced starting the wrap up of my DLR trip ;-] Glad you gave Trent a few minutes to jump around in the room and play. Sounds like check-out was very smooth and despite having to pre-pay for your bags, the ME setup seemed to go pretty well too.

Gee, where would you be going ….DHS maybe? So very cool that you let Steve off the hook to go to MK and see the “boring historical” stuff. It would be what I would want to see too and how I basically spent my last morning at DLR. One more shot at Indy, aye? Awww, sorry to hear HOP was lame, but cool that he was going to come over and join y’all :thumbsup2

Nice timing with Steve being there to stay with Trent for the Jedi Training while you got to hop on ToT!!! Good call going back to SSR and enjoy their food court for your last lunch there. Good to experience as much of the place as possible while you’re there. Glad the trip home was pretty uneventful despite the delay. Airtran damages luggage aye? I hope they didn’t mess it up too bad or hurt the contents in the bags.

What a fun trip, thank you so much for sharing it with us! Can’t wait for the next adventure …and yes we want more pictures next time ;)

wow Mike, your recap was SOOO great, I felt like I was re-living the TR all over again!!!:banana:

And I sooo need to get over to your report. Sorry!

Hey!!! Sorry I've been MIA for like....2 months!! I caught up totally...and now you're done!!! Awesome how you got that super upgrade!!!

I am going to try to finish my TR...after I get caught up on everyone else's...maybe a new installment by Thursday??? Anyway, hope you are still willing to read along!!

Glad Trent might get to go see Star Wars Weekends too!!!

that reminds me I had forgotten to comment on that!!!

You pay for your bags to fly.....and then they get damaged!!:mad::mad:

Southwest, Southwest, "Bags fly free!!" :thumbsup2

I know...that made me mad too

But southwest was just not coming down enough in price. Even when we added in bags to airtran, it still came out a ton cheaper than southwest

Next time I will just pay more :thumbsup2

Marsha that thing about the meals is good Disney karma!! :thumbsup2

I hope that happens to me one day. haha

On a side note, we went to Applebees tonight and had a $25 gift card. We both had waters (cause everything they have to drink is nasty to us...pepsi products and NO Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb. WTH?? --- and don't say a darn thing Kelly!! :rotfl:)
Anyway we did the two for $20 and after tax it was under $22, then we left an extra dollar on top of the remainder of the giftcard, for the tip.

Why am I telling you this? Because after we left, I said, "wow, we just ate for ONE DOLLAR! I only know one place we've eaten cheaper than that and that was a few years ago.....DISNEYWORLD! When we had the dining plan and tips INCLUDED!" So we reminisced a bit. Ahh, those were the days.

Great Deal

Tips being included on dining was nice :wizard:

I wish we had Southwest closer to us :( Dayton is 50 mins away and they don't have SW and Cincinnati is 30 mins away and does not have SW. Columbus and Indy both have them but they are both 1.5 hr away..I don't know if I can justify that drive unless they have SUPER cheap rates!

That's a shame

Really not worth the drive, if not that big of savings for sure :goodvibes

Glad to see you back

Loved SSR and hope to get to that level again :goodvibes

Sounds good. Looking forward to your TR

Thanks...I think Trent will love it

I can't wait til he big enough for RNRC......:woohoo:

I promise on the next trip, there will be ton more pics

Arent you going to DW this year for your daughter parade?

Glad you liked the recap, your TR was a fun read for sure :goodvibes

And I know what you mean about trying to get things in order, I had taken pretty good notes up until the last day but was too tired by then to write anything down so I had to wing it based on the pictures I took ;)

It'll be interesting down the line to have the inevitible picture of Trent TALLER than potato head  Do you think he'll dig RnRC and ToT? He seemed to like BTMRR so that's a good start.

Yes, more pictures!

No, we're going to NYC - she's going to be in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade playing either the flute or picolo. Sadly no Disney trips in the works for at least the next couple of years. Between last fall's trip and this year's NYC trip we're going to have to spend some time paying off the credit cards first :headache:

Glad u enjoyed it :goodvibes

That will be fun to see him when he is taller that Potato head for sure

SO far he does not like TOT

But I Think he will really like RNRC and he wants to try Everest too

That is right, NYC. Hey, that is still cool. THere is a ton of fun things to to do in NYC.

Sucks being responsible doesn';t it
