Studios Overload, a Pop Mishap and One Smooth Talking Hubby FINAL DAY UP. PG 68

re: Mr. Potato Head

Yeah, why can't you just skip the body?? I don't understand either...

CM did not know what he was talking about

You can skip the body.

That takes up way too much room in box

SInce we know DS will want to play with pieces in the room, we just pack two bodies from home and we are set :thumbsup2

Oh, great idea...maybe we'll do the same!

We had a Lego store open in Raleigh before we moved too.

You are right! It was crazy packed for awhile!

I took some pics with my phone that I will share. I know you'd want me too! :goodvibes

Here is Evan with Lego Yoda:

And Owen (what is with that face?!?!):

And this was awesome! The smaller Yoda above was actually a model for this gigantic 8 foot tall Yoda that the master builders made out in the mall.

We :lovestruc :yoda:!

I love the pics Nicole! The boys look like they are really enjoying themselves! The 8 foot yoda is awesome, especially considering he was so short in the movie, lol.

the lego store looked like so much fun!

LOVE that Yoda, wow!

hey Kelly, I have a funny story about my trip. I decided to be helpful to someone who was stuffing a Potato Head box at the Once Upon a Toy store. I said it very low, I said "hey, here's a tip: instead of putting a body in the box, you can stuff it all with the disney pieces, then go to Walmart when you get home and buy your own potato head for much cheaper. Then your child will have a ton of Disney pieces to play with" He seemed really appreciative, and was like oh wow, that's cool, I never thought of that. Then he said he'd run it by the "boss" (his wife )

Well then we continued on to the penny press that we were trying to find. While Mike was pressing the penny, I saw the man go to his wife, who was next to a CM. I saw him start to talk to the CM, he had the potato box in his hands, and I'm 100% certain he asked if it was OKAY to leave out the body and just put the pieces in. The CM shook her head "no", so I'm sure that's what he asked. Mike and I were both like "What a dumb@$$!!!"

The people checking out would not be able to tell what was in the box, and besides, you are paying for potato head parts, the body is ALSO a part, so what does it really matter? I'm sure CM's would all differ in their answers. But it doesn't change the fact that the man was just STUPID for asking.

What a moron! I don't think there's any rules you have to buy a potato head. Lots of kids have plenty of heads and lose the parts and have to buy more. You did your best Cheri, he was just a goof for asking. Of course they'd say no buy the head, they want to sell more!:confused3

You can lead a horse to water!!!!!! Some horses fall in........

Thats kind of like the trick I used to do at a one trip salad bar.....put cucumber slices around the outside of the plate to make it bigger......get more stuff on it!!!!!:lmao::lmao: Its the little things in life that make me happy!!!

Another one: I was at Best Buy looking at flat panel TV's, told the sales rep I was going to mount it myself on the wall cuz I already had a bracket.. He told me if I did it myself it would void the entire warranty on the TV ( he wanted me to have them do it for $149).....I asked him how he was going to know how I had it mounted when I brought it in for warranty work??? People crack me up!!!!

Before we moved back to Lousiana I got a big box of parts for Trent and never put a body in there and no one questioned it. No where is there a sign saying you have to put a body in the box. That CM sucked.

Those stores teach their employees that stuff as they want to try to scare people into buying warranties and using them to install things. I never believe them and do what I want. how in the world can mounting the TV on the wall yourself void the warranty on the actual TV? Its not like you were taking the TV apart or something, So weird!:rotfl2:

Agreed :thumbsup2

My gosh, ya come in and read the last page and you all are talking about shoving bodies into boxes!:lmao: Thank goodness I'm not one of those people who just skip reading things and just agree with what other people are saying.:rolleyes1

Those lego stores look like fun. My kiddos probably would have loved something like that when they were little. But, alas, we were poor back then and never went to one. So now all they want for Christmas is their own laptops. I'm not poor anymore, but these kids are gonna send me to the poorhouse.

Figures UJ would find out a way to get the most for his money with the salad bar. A cucumber dam - whoda thunk?

And yeah, that guy was STUPID for asking. Of course they're gonna say no. I wouldn't have even thought to ask. Obsessive rule followers give me a headache.

Why don't you like Best Buy Kel? I'm not happy with them because they sold me a $60 adapter to plug the laptop in in the car and the damn thing worked for about three weeks then blew up.

Girl, u crack me up :rotfl2:

Well, DH bought a laptop and had it for 3 hrs and driver quit working

Took it to them. Said they had to ship it out

Laptop was in perfect condition, not a single scratch on it

When it was sent out, they checked new condition

when we got it back, it was filthy and scratched up, like a few yr old computer might be

On paper it said, poor condition :confused3

They tried to say we did that and that is how it was when we brought it in.

We wanted a new case or just a new computer as under a month old.

Finally got a new case for it, after like am of phone calls. They are rudest and nastiest people ever

They have worst customer service ever

Hate them :headache:

WORSE, that idiot customer sucked. He made me feel like an idiot myself just for telling him. I told Mike "last time I do anyone any favors" :sad2:

Agreed :thumbsup2

I hate hate hate it too!!

They are out for the big dollar. I read an article once back in college. I had to write a few paragraphs about it. I wish I could find that article for y'all but it went something like this: Best Buy doesn't want people looking for deals -- ie. clearance items, open-box items -- so they do their best to chase those types of people out of their stores. Also, they put that restocking charge in place to try to keep people from returning faulty merchandise.

If I do find it, I'll be sure to post it here.
