Studios lack of DVD players

None of the DVC resorts have a DVD/VCR in anything but the living rooms. Not even the master bedrooms have them.

I have to respectfully disagree with the pps who believe that in order to get the full benefits of DVC one needs to stay in one-bedroom or greater sized units. DVC does not advertise or promote these rooms as "lock-offs" They are not rented as just bedrooms or as regular hotel rooms. They are promoted as STUDIOS. It seems to me that if we followed that logic that they wouldn't need to put refrigerators in them either as those are not found in most hotel rooms on disney property. It is my understanding that not all of them are lock off's and some are just dedicated studios.

To those that feel that I should bring my own dvd player - I did. That really isn't the point of the post. I just feel that if an amenity is being extended to some it should be extended to all. I don't feel that a DVD player in the living room of the studio is excessive to request. The fact that the lockoffs would then have two is an added benefit.

Should DVC install washer and dryers in the studios, too? How about king sized beds?

Actually, there is NO living room in a studio. It's all one room.

Studios are indeed just glorified hotel rooms. Folks shouldn't expect them to have all the convenience features that you'd find in the 1BRs.

Or for $100, you can buy a portable DVD player and hook it up to the tv in your room, as well as use it on the plane to Florida.

This has been our solution.
