We'll be bringing our then-19-month old son to WDW and we're planning on getting a studio. For you more experienced parents, do you think this is doable? We're planning on staying for 8-9 nights. Thanks for the help!

Sure it is do-able. Not to sure how many in you party but if it's just 3 or 4 no problem. The way we looked at it was that we really spent very little time in the room. Naps were always in a stroller at one of the parks, never a trip back to the room.

We had more than a dozen trips in a studio when we only had 1 child no issues. We've now done a 1 bedroom and I don't know if I can go back.

I'm a grandparent, was raising my sons in the '80s. I would have given anything to have had a 1 bedroom option for naps.
You can do it in a studio I'm sure, but with the washer/dryer in a 1 bedroom, and a place for the adults to go while youngster is sleeping, I would do a 1 bedroom for the time peroid you mention.

Bobbi:)

We do studios for us (dh me and DD who will be 2). Works just fine. We usually stay anywhere between 10-12 nights usually.

We stayed in a studio when our daughter was almost 2. It wasn't ideal, but it worked. She was small enough to sleep in the pack and play & we put it in the corner by the sofa. We brought outlet protectors with us and rented a bunch of toys & stroller through A Baby's Best Friend. We went back to the room every afternoon so she could nap while we relaxed on the balcony with the door slightly open so we could hear her.

The best part of WDW for her was/is the pool, so we do more pool time than park time these days.

She's three now and we have a 6 week old baby, so we stay in 1-bedrooms now. I really like the washer/dryer and full kitchen, plus being able to have our older daughter sleep in the living room gives us space with the baby. Gotta love the big bathtub too. :)

Basically, a studio with a young child is certanily possible. Just be prepared for a couple rough nights while everyone adjusts to the sleeping arrangements.

Do-able Yes of course. But I wouldn't want to for 9 days. Early bed time for them it early bedtime for mom and dad also. Atleast that was our experience. Now we are doing a few nights in a studio at BCV before moving into a 1br for a week. So a couple nights I will be to bed early :)

In the case of naps and bedtime one of two things happen....1. Mommy and Daddy sleep too because we are just as tired or 2. We enjoy the patio/balcony. It's not a problem really. Think of it this way...without dvc we would be in a regular hotel room which are smaller and don't have the kitchenette.

Same. We never had an issue with naps. Our babies are (were) amazing sleepers and we could watch TV etc with no issues in a studio.

Also no early bedtimes at WDW for our family, the little one always fell asleep in the stroller.

We did 7 nights at BLT with an 18 m.o. and we were fine. Actually, we loved it so much that's when we decided to but into DVC. Noted that the BLT studios are by far the smallest (I guess AKL value would be close). I think you'll be fine.
