I've seen a lot on these boards that the studio at BLT is a lot smaller than a regular hotel room or studio anywhere else on property. We are jut 2 adults but will we regret not doing a 1br? Is the difference really that signifigant?

Please help and TIA!

You will be very comfortable in a BLT Studio with only 2 adults. Even if there were 3 or 4 of you in the room, it's all about location to the park. How much time do you think you're going to be in the room anyway? If you're like most, the majority of your time will be spent in the parks, eating, or enjoying the pool. If you need to wash clothes during your stay, there is a free laundry facility located on the first floor of the tower. Have fun!

We just spent a week in a studio at BLT in March as a couple and did not have any problems with the space at all. In fact we were impressed with all of the storage in the combo room (vanity and Kitchenette). Since the BLT studios are part of a lock off 2BR, there was room for our suitcases and cooler to be stored in the hallway in front of the connecting door to the 1 BR. The BLT studio is the second smallest DVC studio (the AKV Value studio at Jambo House is the smallest). The BLT studio is 329 square feet but since there are three rooms (bath, combo and bedroom) within the studio it shortens the space allocated for the bedroom.

IMO the bedroom area is close in size to moderate Disney hotel room. People on these boards are just use to the Deluxe hotels and DVC villas. We liked the room and will stay in one again. Have to save those points. ;)

DH and I stayed in a studio for 4 nights last September - first time ever in a studio. We found it to be very small. (We later stayed at a studio at VWL and the first thing that struck us was how much bigger it was that BLT.) The side tables by the bed are basically shelves attached to the wall and are very small. One is taken up pretty much entirely by the Ihome and the other by the telephone. I actually had a hard time finding a place to put my glasses on it at night. They were also so close to the bed that DH rolled over during the night, hit the phone AND managed to dial someone. :scared1: The closet is almost useless because of the floor mounted safe. Add to that the pack and play and vacuum and that takes up the majority of your floor space. It also makes it difficult to hang anything that is long. The bed is on a pedestal, so you cannot store anything like suitcases under it. If I were to go again, especially for any length of time, I would definitely choose a 1-bedroom. That being said, there are a few things that they did get right - ample amount of drawer space for clothes, probably the best storage space in a kitchen that I have seen - even in 1 BR units and a large, enclosed balcony. Good luck with your decision!

The studios are a bit smaller than the other studios and we stayed in one with 4 last summer for a few nights (me and the kids--20, 16, and 13). It was a little tight for us and not sure I would do it again if we were staying longer.

However, with just two adults, you will be fine. There will be plenty of room, especially since you most likely won't be pulling out the sofa.

We love the location of BLT and will be staying there for most of our trips.

That's my thought, I dont want to spend the extra points unless it's absolutely necessary! Thank you for your input, it puts me at ease

It's crazy that there are so many mixed reviews.. Are there different size studios that people could be comparing? jw?

I think that whether it is comfortable or not depends a lot on how much time you spend in your room. We like to hang out in our room in the evenings much like we do at home. We also ate all of our meals in our room, which was a little challenging because of the space. The reduced amount of points needed and the monorail access are definitely huge pluses. It did have by far my most favorite balcony. All resorts & room sizes have their advantages/disadvantages. I say try it and see if it is a good fit for you.

Congratulations! What a wonderful blessing!

Depending on how far along you are, I think that the biggest challenge could be the kitchenette area. Since the two sinks face each other in the same space, there is not a lot of room to turn around. Perhaps someone else can offer some insight.

You should look at pictures to help you decide for yourself. The "living area" is ABOUT 13' x 15' with the rest of the space being the galley kitchenette/vanity and the bathroom.

The studio works fine for 2 people. When the sofabed is opened, there's very little area to walk around it. Two people don't fit well TOGETHER in the kitchenette area, unless they want to be "cozy."

Here are some links to pictures.
