Studio views at OKW?

I'll be staying at OKW in September - my first time there, as a trial run for perhaps looking for a resale.

I'm wondering if the buildings are arranged so that the nicest views go to the larger units and the studios overlook the parking lots, or if everyone has a chance for a lake view?

I'm trying to figure out what sort of location I might want to request, and no sense in asking for something that doesn't exist!

Thanks for any help, and apologies if this has been answered before - I can only go back so far in the archives!

I have stayed in a Studio Twice. The first was this past April and I believe we were in Bldg #18 on the right hand side of the building. Our view was lake and golf course. Our second stay this past July was in bldg #63, close to Hospitality House, but view was really the entrance to OKW near the guard shack. Our outer wall was parallel to road you drive in on. We thought we would hear busses, etc., all night and considered asking to be moved, but we did not. We slept like babies.

I think most if not all of the buildings have studios, 1 & 2 bedrooms. I've stayed in 26 & 28 and both had all 3 room types. In those buildings, the studios were on the ends (you can tell by the smaller porches), with a lockoff 1 bedroom next to them. I don't think any of the rooms at OKW overlook a parking lot (on the porch side). Some buildings are surrounded by trees (building 29 for example), so there is no real view from the porch.

We have always stayed in the turtle pond cul-de-sac. We love it there since you have your own private like pool, snack bar and peace and quiet. We usually ask for bldg 41 or 42 or 43. They are not far from the bus stop so we feel the convience is there. We also stayed in bldg 20 once which wasn't bad but still love turtle pond.

The studios are basically right next to the one bedrooms, if not actually attached to them via a lock off. The studios have a small balcony that would basically look into the rear of the building, facing whichever view you would have in the 1 bedroom next door. The studios also have a double set of windows in the front of the unit that face towards the parking lot, or the front of the building. So to answer your question, no, they do not cluster the studios around the poorer views.

Your best bet is to decide what you and your family wants and needs. Do you want to be next to a pool? Close to a bus stop. Away from everything, or close to the main building. Then you can look at the resort map and pick the area that you think will fit your needs. Everyone has a favorite building, and it is all for different reasons.

There are no bad views at OKW. As everyone else mentioned, all the studios have a view to the back of the building which is either lake, trees or golf course. The dedicated studios have a view out the front of the building too. That might be parking lot, but it might be the road. The buildings are set back form the parking lot and road and are well landscaped so that even those front windows have bushes, trees or a bit of courtyard in front of them.

The only problem with studio views at OKW is that if you are on a lower floor, you might get mostly a view of the vegetation outside your unit. We have noticed this on the first floor mostly.
