Studio Question

I have heard that some studios have a day bed in addition to the sofa bed. Only available at Boardwalk villas. Can anyone confirm that this is true.

Yes some of them have a very, small daybed. However, they are not guaranteed.

What if I have booking for 3 adults and 2 kids...can they guarantee it because that is the only studio that will fit 5. (my youngest is only 2, so the small day bed will work perfectly)

They will not guarantee the room so you would be taking a chance. If you post this same question on the DVC boards, you will probably get more info. I remember it being discussed before.

No, the studio plus can not be guaranteed. It is the luck of the draw. Your 2 year old would be very uncomfortable in this so-called "day bed". This day bed is not anything like you would imagine a sleeping surface to be. Very hard, very small, very narrow - probably smaller than a crib. More like an upholstered luggage rack. It fits in the space where the door would be to a connecting one bedroom if the door existed. These are only found in the dedicated studio at BWV.

Your two year old would fit very nicely in the pack and play or you might be able to request a real crib when you arrive (they are limited).

The occupancy for a DVC studio is four plus one under the age of three. So as long as your two year old doesn't celebrate a birthday before your trip, you will be fine. If he/she does, you will need to get a two bedroom villa.

Whatever you do, don't start this thread on the DVC board. They actually have verbally fought over this in the past. They will bring up how hard it's going to be for everyone to share one bathroom.

It is not a daybed, it is a bench with a pad. We were in a dedicated studio in March and I would never have someone sleep on it. When we stayed at the Beach Club quite a few years ago, we had 2 beds and a real daybed.
