studio question

At which resort?

OKW has the only studios with two real beds in it. Even then, one adult would have to sleep with the pre-schooler, but at least it would be in a queen sized bed instead of a pull out double bed sized sleep sofa. You can put the Pak N Play in the corner or in the bathroom if that works better for you.

Frankly, while you COULD do this, I wouldn't!!! Too small a space for too many people and only one bathroom! Think about how you will keep things quiet and dark for the baby when everyone else wants to be up and doing something.

As long as one adult does not mind sleeping with the pre-schooler, you can fit. We have done it before. Yes - a tad crowded, but it will work.

The rules will permit it, but you'd have to be out of your mind to do so. I'm assuming 2 of the adults are the parents of the kids?? You want some other adult sharing your bedroom?? :scared1: That's not my idea of a vacation - but that's just me. How about a studio for grandma & the kids, then one for the parents  Just be careful you don't end up with a 9-months-later "souvenir" :rolleyes1

see diane - you definitely need the 2 queen beds at OKW to do this.

remember all the other studios only have one queen bed and a double sleeper sofa.

I guess for me - it is my family when I travel - so having that many people in a studio is fine. However, that being said - the MAIN reason I have not gone to a bigger room is because I know I will LOVE it and it will cost me more points! :) So - we deal with mainly 4 in a studio - me, DH, 2 DDs. Now - my mom has come along - which would add the extra person - or my sister and I have traveled with our 3 kids... so we have done 5 before.

But again, we are family - so we deal. The lovely thing about DVC and "luxury" Disney resorts is that they have wonderful common areas - BWV has some great areas to hang out as does BCV. When the room gets crowded and the kids need a break to watch some TV - I grab my laptop and head to a common area.

However, to each his own right? I would prefer to save my points than get a bigger room...but, that is a personal preference, right?

LOL, so do you sleep in the common area too?:lmao:

I think this is quite judgmental. While it may not be your cup of tea it might work for someone else.

To the OP...yes, you can fit the 5 of you in a studio. As others have said, it will be a bit cramped, but it is definitely possible. Have a great trip!

Diane,
We are a "cozy" family :lmao: - so yes - we have brought an air mattress on occassion and put a child in the "hall". A baby/toddler in the pack 'n play has worked. 2 adults and one toddler in a bed has happened... scary, but it works for us and provides us more points to take more trips - or the opportunity to bring friends.

I started with 100 points (re-sale) and am up to 200 points. Trust me - I have made excellent and "efficient" use of those points.

I guess it helps if you have family members who are not bathroom hogs. My family is pretty quick that way - so we are lucky.

Would I like to splurge on a bigger room some day? Yes. If it means shortening my trip? No.

You will definitely be spoiled if you go to a bigger room, but you do what you gotta do. I go with my three children, ages 16, 12, and 11, and we get on each other's nerves a little in the studio. When that happens, I find somewhere to be! I try to make it short stays in the studio and longer stretches in a 1 bedroom.
