So for the first time EVER I'm staying at a studio, because it'll just be me and my 4 year old!! I'm so used to a 1 bedroom and now i have a million questions about the mini kitchen in the studio:

1) how big is the mini fridge and will it hold fruit, gallon of milk, and a handful of other items?

2) Does the mini fridge have a freezer part? I might get some frozen entrees and i want to make sure there is a place for them

3) I understand there is a toaster. is that right?

4) Anything else besides a coffee maker and microwave?

5) Didnt DVC change recently to all paper goods? Whats there and how long will it last us two?

Thanks!!

Your studio refrigerator will hold the things that you mention, but I am not sure about the freezer part. It's not that large and I think it depends on what sort of frozen entree you are talking about.

I think if you ask for real glasses and coffee mugs you can get them at SSR. I haven't stayed there in a few years and they were supposed to get dishwashers so you could have the real things there too.

There is a toaster and a vacuum cleaner.

Maybe someone will post a picture of the SSR refrigerator interior for you.

The freezer part of the mini-fridge in a DVC studio is very small. It might hold one or two frozen entree's, but not much else. They aren't very tall at all.

We also stayed in a studio on our recent trip and I feel like I know the fridge well;) A gallon of milk will not fit and we purchased 2 1/2 gallons which fit perfectly as they have straight rather than rounded edges.

The freezer isn't really a freezer but my 3 year old son turned out whole fridge into a freezer when he changed the temperature by simply turning the knob. We came back from the parks to find everything frozen! So, you could turn down the temp if you have items you would like to stay very cold.

But, the refrigerators in the studio are suprisingly larger than you would imagine and we were able to hold a week's worth of breakfasts and lunches with no problem at all.

If you are having soup or cereal, I suggest bringing your own dishes since they only supply the paper ones. We just bought Dis mugs(we always do anyway) and used those to eat our cereal out of.

It's a counter height fridge. I am sure the freezer compartment will accept one bottle of Tequilla and one bottle of Vodka. Otherwise, get those Maxwellhouse coffee packs.... They are very convenient and fit any size coffee maker. I have read that DVC has gone back to real dishes in the studios... Hope it is true.

Have a great trip!

The mini-fridge can hold a gallon of milk IF you remove a shelf.

Brands/model of fridge may vary resort to resort, so the interiors may be slightly different, but generally they are all about this size.

thanks all of you for your responses!! Also does anyone know if there is a can opener in the studio?

Yes, there should be a manual can opener. If not, contact housekeeping.

We stayed in a studio at SSR in January. We had about four paper plates and bowls. Plastic utensils were even more scarce, but we picked up extras at Artist Palette. There were small plastic mugs. After staying in a one bedroom in September, where there is a dishwasher, I could understand why the studios have paper and plastic. Another reason I'm looking into Owner's Locker.
