Morning my fellow Disney fanatics....

I'm kinda bummed because the big family trip we had planned for August looks like it's going to be cancelled since my sibs are having a hard time making their schedules work  My good problem I am experiencing is that I now have 160 BCV points to fool around with this year, so I'm trying to figure out how best to use them! We're now planning on going down mid-July, just the two of us for now. Here are some of things sprinting around my head, and quite frankly, I hate math so any help would be appreciated!

1. We could get a studio for a week and hop on the DDP. I normally run away screaming from the DDP since I hate being told when, where, and what to eat, but since we won't have access to a kitchen and we won't be paying for a hotel room, I figured we could put that money towards the DDP. Let me also say that I have a TIW card, so I need to compare the cost of the DDP against the savings I get from TIW. My other concern here is the size and condition of the BCV studios. Will I feel cramped, and how's the overall condition of the rooms?

2. Splitting our stay by spending the first two nights at POR then moving to a 1BR at BCV for four nights. Obviously, we would have to spend OOP for POR, but then we would have access to a full kitchen as well as much more space. DDP wouldn't be necessary since we can cook in the villa, so the money I would have put into the DDP could go to the room at POR as well as groceries for the villa. I could probably snag a good deal on a room through my AP, so the cost at POR would not be that large.

Lots to consider....what would you do? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

Yikes! That is a tough one. I am a fan of the split stay, so I might go with that one. You could still pick a couple restaurants that you love and use your TIW. Of course, if you did the DDP you could experience some restaurants that you normally wouldn't. Would it be the standard dining plan?

Another vote for the split stay. POR has one of the best food courts on property, a lovely restaurant and access to great places at DTD via water taxi. Go for it.

I just returned from a studio at BCV & it was FAB-U-LOUS! I was nervous, as I had read a few reviews saying the rooms were worn & dated. Not the case at all. It was bright & airy, and immaculate. It was bigger than I thought it would be, and I loved having the couch as a little sitting area. If you would need the couch to sleep, it was the easiest pull-out sofa I've ever used in WDW. One pull & it was out, and already made up. One push & back in it went.

We got a HA room (not requested) and the bathroom set-up didn't work for us at all, but the resort was full so no chance to switch. The bathroom is huge, but it's a roll-in shower, so the water runs out into the bathroom area. Also the sink is just mounted on the wall - absolutely no counter or shelf space to put your toiletries or cosmetics. We used the kitchenette as our make-shift bathroom counter area!

We had a corner balcony that was HUGE. It was seriously like having another room attached to the studio. We kept the doors open & it felt so spacious. You could always request a corner balcony studio & hope you get it.

I'd stay in the studio the whole time if it's just 2 of you, and it's covered by points. You're soooooo close to Epcot to go over to eat, we did this sometimes twice a day. You've also got YC, BW, Swan & Dolphin right there too for dining variety. The kitchenette is big enough & well-equipped that you could use it for meals/snacks a few times too (if you choose not to do DDP.

Just my two cents!

I agree. I would take the BCV studio for a week if its just 2 people. Especially if its warmer weather and you can use SAB.

Plus I would prefer not to worry about cooking and going back to the room for meals.

We have used TIW and DD plan together. The regular plan excludes wine/beer and appetizers so we use TIW for those portions of the meal.

Don't get me wrong though. PO is fantastic and if you want that experience as well as BC then go for that. We often do split stays just to get different experiences during our vacation.

Plus, I love 1BD plus for the washer/dryer. Its a huge plus for us to be able to wash clothes in our room.

Thanks all! I feel much better about staying in the studio now that I hear more good things about them. Now it looks like my in-laws may come instead, so this may all be a moor point. We'll see soon enough!
