"Studio Disney 365", a Disney-owned Store and Salon will be opening in the Downtown Disney District this Spring. It will occupy the storefront recently vacated by Club Libby Lu.

While not much is known about it at this point. Early indications are that it will have a strong Hollywood-theme, and will offer both Adult and Child Fashion Makeovers, somewhat similar to what Club Libby Lu did.

Hmm - sounds intriguing!

Thanks for the info, Glenda.
I wonder how they will fill the other empty stores? This economy is putting a damper in everything!

Like on the Disney Channel? Disney 365! Well, that's what it made me think of.

Thanks for the info, Glenda.

Seriously! Isn't the candle store closing too?

Yep, Illuminations will be closer later this spring.

Thanks for the info, Glenda.

While I'm sure they're looking for new tenants, I would also expect to see DLR doing what's been done at WDW, which is filling those vacant storefronts with Disney-run stores.

As much as I enjoy walking thru Illuminations or the Dept 56 store, I would rather see by a bunch of Disney stores!!!;) I can shop at Illuminations at home.....

Oh neat!!!!! How fun would it be to get that done with my girls! Fun!!! I'd definitely love to see more Disney themed stores go into DTD. I get the restaurants but not the clothing or sunglasses shops......I'd rather have more Disney stuff. :)

I love:love: the Disney Christmas store they have at WDW's DTD! I would love to see them put one of those in DTD! :thumbsup2

I will miss Dept. 56 for sure - I thought that was a great fit and addition to DTD. But I will not at all be disappointed to see more Disney-themed stores moving into DTD to give a more overall complete Disney experience, if that is what happens. Right now DTD seems like a typical sort of outdoor mall/marketplace/cineplex kind of area with a splash of Disney. I would like to see it become Disney-fied from top to bottom. I had NO clue that there was a Disney Christmas store in WDW's version of DTD, but seeing that I have been lamenting the loss of the Fantasyland Christmas store in DL for ages now, I would be ALL OVER that idea! I would LOVE to see a year-round Disney Christmas store in DTD!!!!! I wish they would do that.

Thanks for posting! We are going on our 1st trip to DLR and this would be an awesome thing for me and my daughter to enjoy doing together. Like with the BBB in WDW which was fun for my daughter on our 1st summer 08 WDW trip, having something that we could do together would be AWESOME! I'm looking forward to finding out more! I'll be checking for updates-THANKS!

This may be silly to some but I'd love a small marketplace type store with food items, beer, wine etc. They could do it nicely and I wouldn't mind paying a bit more (not ridiculous stupid more) for the ease of it. When we go to DLR we don't like to leave the property at all..be nice to be able to get some food items, especially with DVC coming soon.

ITA! When I go to disney I want disney! I dont want to eat and shop at the same places I can here. :thumbsup2

With the continuing change of storefronts, I hope Disney realizes that they really should make DTD more Disney-centric and less of a typical strip mall. Of course, the cherry on top would be if they opened up a Disney-related nightlife place *coughAdventurersClubcough*. ;)
