Hi All ~ What is the best way to get studio audience tickets for shows for July 2008? My dd14 wants to be a part of a studio audience. Thanks! Sandra

and

are your best bets. You can also try the official site of the TV show you may be interested in seeing. Do keep in mind many of the shows are ages 16+ so it make take some looking around. Best of luck to you!

Also, make sure you arrive early to the scheduled time of your show, seats fill up quickly. I learned this the hard way. :headache:

If you can't get tickets online, you can always try Hollywood. There are often people walking around right in front of the shopping center offering tickets for that night's taping for Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel, etc. However, keep in mind that you will probably be a stand-by guest and will only be seated if there is room left in the audience.

Actually, with the exception of the Jay Leno tickets picked up from inside the Universal Studios park, most TV show tickets you see people giving out will be standby tickets. They typically give out 25-50% more tickets than they have seats, so you may have to show up 3 hours early to ensure that you get in.

That said, if you are planning to go to Universal, I would recommend the Jay Leno tickets. Only the ones from inside the park will be guarenteed (not the ones offered at CityWalk). You can tell because the word "GUARENTEED" will be stamped on them. Leno is a fun show to watch live, and unlike many sitcoms you won't be sitting there for hours (most sitcom tapings can take 3 or 4 hours, and much of that time will be spent listening to an MC try to fill the time during costume and set changes).

If you really want to see a sitcom tape, Paramount does offer a very limited number of guarenteed tickets to the shows they tape. To reserve tickets, you have to call (323) 956-1777 at 9 a.m. exactly five days in before the taping date (reserved tickets are often gone in minutes). Once you have a reservation, you must call back to confirm between 9-11 AM on the day of the show or you'll lose your seats.

I recommend pre-ordering them from the website. We saw two and a half men taped last year and we ordered from online. There were a TON of people that had to wait becuase they were stand by. In the meantime we were seated in the closer seats and out of the rain!

Also be aware that most studios only allow people 18+ into the audience.

Leno is 16+. I thought it was funny that when we were the, the guest of honor wasn't even old enough to be in the audience. (Miley Cyrus)

Most shows (other than late night shows) are "on break" in July. I think the majority of shows (e.g. sitcoms) start back up in late August.
