Studio at VWL

Friends have made reservations for my family at the vwl in may. We have a studio room reserved but now we think it may be to small. Is there a way to possibly get an upgrade to a one bedroom and how should I go about doing that. Any suggestions would help. Thanks

No I believe it may have come from some other timeshare service. We do have res and confirmation numbers.

If it came via an II trade, you are outta luck.

You will have one queen sized bed and one double sleeper sofa. The room sleeps four plus one under the age of three in a pack and play (which can be found in the closet).

It sounds like they traded their time share for a stay at Disney? If that is correct, I doubt of you can upgrade to a larger room.

I suggest you call the VW direct, give them the conformation number. I assume they could tell you atleast the type of reservation it is, and maybe point you in the right direction in regards to making changes in the reservation.

VWL won't have any info on this reservation until at least three or four days before check in. The guest needs to call MS to find out if there is any chance to upgrade - seriously doubt it, though. A trade is a trade.

May doesn't have alot of 1-bedrooms.

now Sept you might be able to get one - but in May, this late.

I think you are stuck with the studio.

that might be the best their trader could do.

all DVC studios are bigger than all the values and moderate resorts at WDW.

plus they are bigger than the deluxe hotel standard rooms at Wl, AKL.

No, a trade is a trade. The only time I've ever heard of an upgrade was if the original room was out of service because of a problem at the resort. If it was a II trade, they were lucky to get a VWL studio. You don't see VWL very often in II.

If you need a bigger unit, maybe you could have them cancel the VWL and try to book a Marriott 1 or 2 bedroom for May through II. They would have to pay the trade/exchange fee again, though - $139.00 the last time I traded.

Just went over to II and copied some availability for exchange at Cypress Harbour. I also saw Marriott Horizons, Grande Vista, and the World Center Marriotts. Here's the May availability from II's site for Cypress Harbour with dates (all 2 bedrooms):

sorry should have say what I mean.

the DVC resorts for May do not have a lot of 1-bedroom. there are a bunch in Orlando - just not DVC resorts.

of course it could be my trader.

I'm curious about what size unit the OP traded. Seems like if they owned something larger than a studio....they are not get a good trade. We own a two-bedroom thru Marriott...I would never accept something smaller in trade.
