Im looking for suggestions on where the best location at SSR is, so I am close to DTD (within walking distance), a mug refill station, and the bus. I am staying in a studio for the first star wars weekend with my DH and sister. We have never stayed at SSR before, so any suggestions would be great! Thanks :goodvibes

Congress Park is close to DTD, but the nearest mug refill station would be over at the Paddock pool. Perhaps you could request a Paddock building closest to DTD.

The Paddock bus stop is the 3rd of 5 at SSR.

What do you consider walking distance? We have walked to DTD from every section in SSR. Congress park is the closest at about 10 minutes but Springs (which is the section closest to the main pool, restaurants, store, etc) is about a 17 minute walk.

Drink refill stations are located at Springs or Paddock section. Both themed pools are in these sections too.

Congress park is the section with the nice DTD views and it's maybe a 1-2 minute walk across the street to the Paddock section. We have stayed in both and used the Congress Park bus stop while staying in Paddock and the Paddock bus stop when staying in Congress Park depending on where in the section our room was located.

There's also a drink refill station at Grandstand...

And you can walk to Downtown Disney/West Side in 10 minutes (or less, depending on how fast you walk) from Grandstand and/or the Springs...

So I guess it depends on where in Downtown Disney you're wanting to go...also, the refillable mug stand is open much longer at Artist Palette than it is at Grandstand...don't know about the hours at the new Paddock Pool/Grill...

But as a PP noted, you can start from just about anywhere at SSR and get to a refillable mug station within a 10-minute (or less) walk...and Downtown Disney will be 5 minutes (to Marketplace Bus Stop from last building in Congress Park) to 20 minutes, depending on where in Downtown Disney you're wanting to go ...

I'm a Congress Park girl, myself. ;) The walk to DTD is wonderful and just enough. Not too long but long enough to feel you've gotten some exercise. :thumbsup2

A word of caution: Requesting Congress Park doesn't necessarily get you that wondrous view of DTD. I found that out the hard way. :headache: If you want that view, request that too. I'm a poet and I'm not aware of it! :rolleyes1
