I have a friend who was wondering if he can fit in two adults and three kids 13,6 and 3 in a studio and would they let him. Anyone know the actual policy, I know it is a 4 person occupancy but do they let it slide a little when one child is younger.

The policy is 4 plus a child UNDER 3. I believe they let it slide in a 1 bedroom, but not in a studio. As a matter of fact, I saw a thread earlier today that someone was told they would be turned away if they showed up with5.

Now to mention it I think the child may be under 3. :rolleyes1 LOL

You are kidding, right? Are you really a member? :sad2:

Brasey,

This post puzzled me a little. You are a DVC member so I'm sure you know the rules on occupancy in a studio. Why are you trying to stretch the limit? :confused3

Well I did a little Dis board search and low and behold, you rent points. :rolleyes1 Wow, it all comes into focus now. :3dglasses You have a renter that wants to cram 5 in a studio and you are trying to get permission here as a way to make it seem alright. Well, it isn't, and as a DVc member you should know that. Go back and tell the person looking to rent from you that they need AT LEAST a one bedroom. I realize you want to rent your points but circumventing rules is just plain wrong. In fact if I was looking to rent from you I'd have to pause and wonder what else you might try to pull.

Please spare us sitting by the pool and hearing some renter bragging about what a deal they got by renting and how they have 5 people in a studio. :furious: You wonder why renters are frowned upon by owners. You are making things worse with this.

To sum up, tell your "friend" it is a no. :sad2: A one bedroom only sleeps 5 if one child sleeps in the pack and play let alone a studio. Renting or not, what is right is right. You seem like a reasonable guy, even though you did try to decieve a little with your "friend" post. Do the right thing. :teacher:

Excellent post, Flyingfree WDW!! Good post.

The statement about the child not really being three was a joke thats why I put LOL and after it, but seeing your two response I guess it can be taken out of context. I was asked a question by someone and who better to answer than fellow DIS'ers. As an owner why would I want to devalue or lessen the experience of owning DVC, but I can also see your points as to your ownership interests and how they can be affected. I would never stretch the line, as who will have to answer but the person who is doing the stetching. I thought I was asking a question that had a grey area about accomodations and was previously discussed on here but should have let the person thinking of doing the renting ask it instead. One to many times trying to help. No hard feelings I hope.

Since the OP's question has been answered, feel free to visit our Occupancy thread here for further discussion. Thank you.
