A few friends of mine and I are planning a quick trip-We will be staying at SSR. Is a studio too small for all 4 of us. I figure if we book a 1 BR we will need to sleep on a pull-out anyway. Any experiences.
PS OKW is not available for all of the nights we want to go.

Depends on how close you are! With 4 adults at SSR, that means two will have to share the DOUBLE size hide-a-bed, and that would be pretty cozy. At least at OKW, you would have two queen beds, for 4 to share.

depends upon you.

much to close for my taste.

but most people are probably friendlier than I am.

I need my SPACE!!!!

I agree, Pat! It wouldn't be my choice.

I also think you'll be tight in a studio for more than a night or two.

Much too close for my comfort. If it were two couples (rather than all girlfriends or a family with two teens), I wouldn't even consider it. Everyone is different about that though.

Best wishes -

A 1 bedroom has a queen sized sofa bed, at least at the BWV, so it's a bit better, and there's more room to spread out.

I went with 2 studios when there were four friends for a stay. I wouldn't even do 3 adults in a studio.

Unless you plan on cooking or doing laundry, I'd sure consider two studios instead of a one bedroom. You'll lose the washer/dryer and full kitchen, but you'll have plenty of room at only a small point premium over the one bedroom...depending on when you go and which nights you stay, of course.

We've done 4 adults in a studio for a 3-4 night stay. It is tight but if you're all friends, it's really not that bad. We don't spend that much time in the room anyway.

When we do this, we do prefer OKW.

We had four of us in at one bedroom at SSR - three adults and one 11 yr old. We felt very crowded in the room and decided we should have gotten a two bedroom.

I would maybe do it for a few days in an OKW studio, but not the other studios. Way to close for me.

If you (or the others) don't mind being that close and sharing the bathrooms then I guess it would be OK, especially if all you'll be doing is sleeping and getting ready; however, most as you can see, think it would be rather tight. It was tight quarters for me, DH, DD9 and DD2 last summer, but with kids it's easier. I prefer a 1 bdrm. We shared a hotel room w/ my parents once and after that we would never share a room with other adults again. There were no fights, just we stay up late, they get up early, bathroom issues, time to get ready issues, snoring, and so on. Trust your instinct on this one since only you know how the others that are going with you are. Have a fun trip, either way.

The best thing about studios is the low point cost that does allow people to squeeze in a quick trip here and there. 1 or 2-BR villas are great, but sometimes circumstances ( ie point balances ) make studios the logical choice for that quick getaway. If the purpose of the trip is simply to get a few days in Florida, a studio should be fine.

I forgot to mention what is probably the most important benefit to this strategy. You gain a BATHROOM! Two bathrooms for four adults is WAY better than one!

We are 4 college friends and once upon a time all lived in a dorm together-albeit 2 to a room. The points for a weekend are what is killing me. I have explained it all to the group and have stated it will be tight. I think 2 studios are better than a 1BR in this case, as jim mentioned.
Good point-the "snore" factor!

Four adults in a studio most likely would be cramped.

You may want to consider getting two studios rather than a one bedroom vacation home. In January for example, a one bedroom unit per night is 20 points mid week vs 22 points for two studios (11 points each night).

I agree with OKW you will have 2 beds. :Pinkbounc

I've done it at OKW with three of my friends on an "all-girl" trip. And I got sick with a cold! It isn't optimal, but it can work if you're all pretty flexible - and we all were, so it was okay. I stayed in the room for two days because of the cold :guilty: - I was really sick - but the rest of them went to the pool and parks and just had a really good time. If the choice is do that or don't go, I know I would do it again - we are all still friends and even work together! ;) - but a larger space would make things a lot easier. If you need "alone time" there is nowhere to go but the bathroom or the balcony or, of course, take a walk!

When you are young(or younger than I am now) you can do lots of things you wouldn't dream of doing as an older adult(me). I can remember crashing many places for a week not much bigger than a stuido. If you are a a couple of years out of college (2-3)...I guess I could have easilly done OKW stuido. But would agree, 2 would be great.

I think it would be too tight. I wouldn't want to share a pullout couch with another adult for more than a night.
