Studio 1 night and switch to 2 BD?

After reading a few posts that sound like my situation, I think I can do this. Please guide me in how to do it correctly, i.e. what should I ask MS for?

I would like a studio for the first night of our stay (we are planning on arriving late in the evening and just basically sleeping there) and then switch to a 2BD at the same resort for the rest of our stay. Possible? What should I say?

I also read that Bell Services will move our bags. Is this still true? Will they just hold our bags and WE move them if we ask?

Thanks for your help---this is an invaluable resource and I don't know how anyone can go to DW without all the advice found here! It certainly has made things easier for us!

When you call MS, tell them you want a studio for what date and then a 2 bedroom for what dates. Bell services will move your bags for you without any problem.

If you are like us and like to do the Dining Plan, but for a short period of time, have MS book the studio as one reservation with a separate confirmation no. and the rest of your stay with another confirmation and ask them not to like the reservations (I do it in two phone calls just to be safe). You can add the DDP for just the one night if you wish.

We have two ressies for our trip coming up in March, exactly like you want to do, studio for Sat. night and a 2 bedroom for the rest of the stay.

What are the chances of just "expanding" into the 2 BD rather than changing rooms altogether? How could I swing that with MS? Or can I just request and cross my fingers?

I'm not really sure what your chances of "expanding" into to 2BR are, I guess it depends if someone is moving out of the 1BR next door. You could mention it to MS and see what they say.

We are also doing a weekend stay in a studio and moving to a 2BR. In our case, I requested a dedicated 2BR (did not want the children having a door in their bedroom portion) so we will have to change rooms. We usually just move ourselves, but I guess using bell services would be much easier.

Enjoy your trip!

Tell MS about your "expanding" request. Make sure you are booked in a lock-off unit, not dedicated. Mention again at check-in, then cross your fingers. Good luck!

Make sure both reservations are in the same name. Get them linked. Then when you check in, see if they have you blocked to stay in the same room. They can sometimes do this. They did this for us when we were in a one bedroom first for a few days and then expanded to a two bedroom. When our guests arrived, housekeeping just opened the door between the two rooms.
