Studies on Soda *Please Read*

No. I haven't gained 15 pounds in the last year and I drink MORE than one Diet Dr Pepper a day.
I drink multiple pepsis in a day..and I gained about 2lbs last year..
I can't drink just regular water much. I hate that it has no taste.

I refuse to drink plain water. It makes me gag.

I'm drinking a Dr.Pepper as we speak.. rofl.

i have type 1 diabetes
i already can't drink juice(which i love)
i'm not going to stop drinking soda

It seems like we can't eat anything without something changing our DNA or genetic makeup or something! I don't drink soda a lot as it is, but I'm not going to stop. You only live once, enjoy it while you can! I say eat and drink whatever you want while you can!

Sometimes I'm really glad I hate soda. I hate a lot of things. :rotfl:

But I love water... and I love a lot of plain things. xD

Soda has been around forever, I'm not too worried.

So has tobacco.

But anyway, I gave up soda a long time ago. I mean, what's the point of being stubborn about it? If it's unhealthy for you, then I don't have to worry about it, and if it is fine, then I still don't have to worry about it. It's a win-win situation for me, and it's just easier than having to worry about it. That question of wether or not I'm deteriorating my health because of a beverage isn't there.

I don't miss it at all; we don't have pop in my house on a regular basis anyways. It's as simple as ordering iced tea in the restaurant instead of coke. And it's not like they don't make juice slurpies. :teeth:

Yeah but if you read some stuff on iced tea/juices they're filled with caloires and bad sugars...so again...bad for you.

See what I mean?

The reason giving up Coke was easy for me, was that I just didn't drink it. I didn't let myself has a sip once and a while, I ignored the craving.
And when the Coke runs out, everybody is too lazy to go to the garage and get another bottle.

Tea/Juices can be packed with bad stuff for you.

Again, I'm not being stubborn, I'm just saying that I'm not going to give up something I love.

Yes, but here we're not referring too the sugars inside, if we did that then no way I would stop eating my chocolate.

For example if you pour coke on something rusty, it can remove the rust. Also in the winter when your windshields are frozen, poor coke on them too defrost them. I'm not saying they're bad, but just imagine what that does too your body on the inside.

Yes, what we're talking about here is not drinking soda because it's bad for you. Period. But when you look at it, tea/juices are also bad for you. Tea is packed with caffeine and sometimes sugar which can lead to obesity and diabetes/heart problems etc. Juice is the same. So if we're going to pick on soda for being bad for you, then we need to single out the other things to.

Everythings going to kill you, one way or another.
Worrying, is overrated.

This probably will be my last post on this thread, mainly just because debate type things get me rilled up hehe.

My point of this is not too say, ' Stop eating and drinking everything bad for you. ' I just want you to realize what your putting into your body and what it could do to you, and to take it seriously.

I know I may sound like a health nut, but believe me I'm not. I love my candy and chocolate as much as the next person. By all means drink your pop, just make sure you know what it does to you.

I couldn't agree with you more Hilary. Honestly, everything is bad for you in some shape or form. So why worry? I mean obviously don't go drinking posion of bleach...those will kill you. But if scientists are claiming something is bad (soda...JUICE...ICED TEA which are no better for you than soda by the way) why worry about it if you enjoy it? Life's short...drink soda...haha

I mean really, they're all bad for you.

Coke has sugar and caffeine in it.
Diet Coke has aspartame in it.
Citrus juices deteriorate your teeth.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
And I feel fine.

Iced tea, easy on the sugar, or maybe even flavoured with honey and/or lemon is nowhere near as bad for you as soda. It's just boiled water and leaves plus whatever sweeteners you use, and there's probably isn't nearly as much sugar in a glass of tea as in a can of soda. And some teas, green teas, for instance, are very good for you. Juice, I'll give you, it has tons of sugar in it; my aunt has diabetes and needs to watch out when it comes to eating and drinking fruit and fruit juice. But at least fruit juice has vitamins in it, whereas soda has nothing. Even if you drank all three sparingly, which would really be a good idea anyway, soda would easily be the worst for you.

Sorry for that, but I felt a need to defend tea. Although this debate is making me very glad that soda tastes quite awful to me already.
