Student humiliated by teacher over Broncos jersey.

Ok..yea, that's cruel but entertaining. It's easy to say that because it didn't happen to me though..

That teacher is an idiot. So does that mean if I wear an Ohio State jersey and my teacher is a Michigan Fan, or if I wear a Yankees hat and my teacher is a Red Sox fan, that gives him the right to humiliate me like that? I'm sorry, but I would have probably punched the teacher in the face. I don't care if I get suspended or expelled or whatever. That is stupid, wrong, and a great example of how people take sports too seriously.

the teacher is clearly a huge fan of his home team and he is just being stupid over some stupid topic...
if he doesn't like what his student is wearing, just get over it...
i feel sorry for the student...

Hahaha i live really, REALLY close to Beaver Falls...it's quite funny. I can see why his teacher made him do that.

It's not that funny. And just becouse his team was facing her favorite team dosen't mean he can do that. the only way this can work is if the teacher is a Packers fan, and the student is a Vikings fan.

This is a prime reason for dress codes.

For the IDIOT Teacher that is.

DD teacher tried to embaress her one day ( Just once ) I called her out on it during a discusion meeting .Her comment was can we discuss this in private.I said you didn't make your comments in private so why the change of heart now.

:scared1: OMG, that was really harsh,

Did the teacher HAVE to make such a BIG deal about it? :sad2:

Sure the teachers here have favorite teams and they like to tease the kids here just a little. But they'd NEVER do that. That's just rude.

Since it's an ethnicity class, I can see where the teacher might say... "Hey, everyone else in here is a Pittsburgh fan. How does it feel to be in the minority?" But to force the kid to take his midterm on the floor while being harassed is outrageous. I can't believe that a teacher would ever feel justified in disadvantaging a student during an exam. This guy obviously doesn't know what it means to be a teacher and should certainly be fired.

What I don't get...is why the kid didn't do anything. They just sat there and took it?

because the person doing it is his TEACHER... he'd probably have gotten into trouble had he stuck up for himself... "don't talk back to me..." etc.

i think it's disgusting... i can see how between friends this kind ajoke might be funny... or just for a very short time, just a little dig @ the guy or whatever... but the teacher took it way too far and humiliated the poor guy... he totally abused his position... quite simply this was bullying...

Umm not quite. I guess you didn't hear about the part where he made him take his test on the floor and the part where he allowed other students to throw things at him? Yeah, gee. Funny.

So? There is a point where a teacher is no longer deserving your respect. Had this been me, I probably would have hit the teacher. Punched him in the face and go "If that felt bad, then it was a lesson". Expell me, suspend me, do whatever. I probably would have transfered out of the school anyway, so what do I have to lose?

well, IMO that is probably over-reacting... by resorting to violence you kinda loose your moral highground...

i guess refusing, calmly, to sit on the floor... would be a good first step... then, i fthe teacher persisted i would walk out and go find someone more senior and explain the situation...

but of course... just because someone is a teacher/older than me/whatever doesn't mean they deserve my respect no questions asked...

edit: i didn't mean that the student SHOULDN'T have done anything because the guy was his teacher.. i meant more that he probably felt he COULDN'T do anything iykwim? i know i've been in trouble before, unfairly so.. and unfairly punished (for things i didn't do) but when trying to explain this i got into more trouble for answering back...
