Stuck on Haunted Mansion Right Now

When I went on Haunted Mansion yesterday, I ended up being evacuated from the ride around 10:30AM. I was given a fast pass that could be used at either Haunted Mansion, Philharmagic, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Small World or Magic Carpets.

My mom got stuck at the top of the Alice in Wonderland ride at Disneyland for about 30 min. It was so long that a CM came up for her with an umbrella to keep the sun off of her. Finally they got her down and they did give her FPs to ride anything she wanted. (why the cm could get up there but not get her down right away she doesn't know. It was confusing.)

Unfortunately during that trip, she had some bad mojo since every ride she rode broke down! She was the "black widow" of Disneyland rides!:eek:

I never thought I would mind getting stuck on a ride but there were a few moments on POTC and Spaceship Earth last week where we thought we were going to be stuck and it was nerve wracking. It definitely gave me a panicky feeling.

we got stuck on spaceship earth for like 25 minutes last trip, but it was awesome. it was at the tilty backwards part with all the "stars". i almost fell asleep it was so comfy.

we got stuck on POTC for over 30 min last April. I could now teach a college course on the pirate with the map and key with jack sparrow hiding in the barrel behind him. We were there so long, they finally cut the audio, but the animatronic figures still moved. . .it was a little unsettling.

This reminds me of when we got stuck on POTC in DL. We were the last boat of the night and it stopped for a moment before we got to the room with the big ship. When it started again, and we approached the room, we saw that all the Animatronics were slumped over. The music was going, their heads and arms still moving, but just slumped over. It was like this for the rest of the ride. Talk about creepy! It was very strange looking.

We thought that maybe since we were the last boat the CMs were anxious to close up the place and got ahead of themselves and started switching things off.:confused3 But none the less, it was probably the POTC ride that we talk about the most.

I've been stuck on HM before in the graveyard so I didn't mind. I've been stuck on POTC too but that was awful, cold and dark and a very loud obnoxious family in front of us.

I have never been stuck on a ride where I had to be escorted off, but it happened to DH and the older kids on TT in November (I was waiting outside with the younger ones). They gave them paper FP that were good for any ride, any time and didn't expire for at least a week (though I think it was more like two weeks). Since we also had FP+ for the ride for another time a little later (the ride was down a while), we also got the FP+ good for certain rides that evening.

I actually like getting stuck on Haunted Mansion and it has happened quite a few times. Got stuck by the endless hallway one time for about 15 minutes. It was an extremely hot day outside and there was cool air blowing on us in that spot the whole time we were stuck. It was a wonderful break before we went back out into the heat. I also like getting stuck over the dining room. Gives an opportunity to catch some details.

Seem to always get stuck in that first hallway on Haunted Mansion.....wouldn't mind getting stuck in another scene.

Back in 2009 we got stuck on PeopleMover.....thankfully just before entering the dark tunnel leading into Space Mountain. We were stuck for over 30 minutes and had to be walked off. Everyone received FP good for any ride at any time that day. That was a nice little bonus!

In 1990 I got stuck on the Carousel of Progress. I had "Now is the time, Now is the best time, Now is the best time of your life!" in my head for the rest of the trip.

The animatronics kept going, the seats just stopped moving. It was actually pretty funny when the whole audience started saying, "With an electric iron and electric lights, Mother now has time to enjoy her embroidery in the cool of the evening" in unison. But eventually we mutinied and went out the emergency exit.

My DS likes to ride Spaceship Earth as his last ride before we leave. We were already cutting it close one year, and sure enough, the ride stopped several times for a total of almost 25 minutes! I thought we were going to miss our flight! But usually, I don't mind getting stuck for a bit. It's part of the story we have to tell!

I have been stuck on this ride multiple times. The one spot I hate to be stuck the most is at the very end. With Madem Leota saying "hurry baaaackk," worst spot ever! I like getting stuck in the graveyard scene, as I love the song that plays!

OMG....her voice saying that freaks me out just to think about it. :scared1:

for about 45min... near the end... in the "rain" part... "and rain, rain , rain, rain, rain" - My family and I joke about it all the time now... very annoying part to be stuck in (at 10 o'clock at night!) :)

We had to be "rescued" by a CM along with the others on the ride. We were given paper FP to be used on any ride (back in the day of Legacy FP). While "collecting" other guests - we were all walking together - some Japanese tourists were taking pictures of themselves (and the ride) and asked us to take their picture all together. The CM yelled at us and said "no pictures allowed". :confused3

We avoided Pooh Bear for a while after that :rotfl:

I know "these things happen," but do they do anything for the passengers who get stuck for a really long time? (e.g. extra FPs) What about for those who miss ADRs or other FPs?

We've always gotten fastpasses back to the particular ride. On 2 occasions, because of extremely lengthy delays we missed our FP window for other rides, so we showed them those ones we missed and they gave us new ones for those rides also :goodvibes

I think Small World would be the worst.

been there, done that...twice. Both times, we were in the very last room where everyone is singing and it's all white/silver etc. The exit was so very very close but we just couldn't get there...:scared1:

There is no bad part of haunted mansion to be stuck in...

I have been stuck on most every magic kingdom ride. Only roller coasters bothered me because I am tall and I felt to stuck.

The only ride I have ever been stuck on is ToT (last September) and it was terrifying. We were in the elevator and the doors opened, we dropped a tiny bit and STOPPED! They were talking to us while they were trying to fix it. They would tell us they were powering down and we would be slowly lowered, and nothing would happen. Then they would tell us to stay calm, we would be powered down again. It was September, so it got hot and humid quickly which made it even worse. Finally after 45 minutes, the elevator slowly crept down the elevator shaft. As we got off the ride, we were able to "jump the line" and get back on if we wanted. By that point, I had enough and got off with my niece, nephew and BIL, but DD (age 8), DH and my SIL got right back on. The funny part during all of this was the communication with the CMs when we were stuck. They were talking to us and making us laugh, I was in the front row and pretended to be scared / "get sick" and they said "please ignore the dramatic blonde in the front row".

We were stuck for about 20 minutes in the room with the crystal ball floating head and my son loved it. In fact I think because of that, it's his favorite ride. People started singing and it was a really funny experience!

The only ride we have been stuck on is big thunder mountain. The train stopped at the very top of the lift hill.we were there for 20 minutes before cm's came and walked us off the ride. They gave us all "front of the line passes" for our troubles.

I think I might be the winner here...

We all know that the new Figment ride is a contender for the worst one on property, and in order to show my foreign boyfriend the pure craptasticness it is, we took him on this one time...and proceeded to get stuck...

IN THE GOSH-DARNED SMELL ROOM. WITH THE SEQUENCE GOING OVER AND OVER.

I think we went through 5 skunk 'sprays' before they finally turned the stupid stuff off, and then we saw a guy walk through, and then we started moving again after maybe 30 minutes...but all of the audio for the rest of the ride was completely out of sync. Creepy. I don't think I'll ever ride that thing again. :badpc:

(I've also been stuck on Splash Mountain for about an hour, JUST as the log stopped to get people off of the ride. No compensation, either. :( )
