We have taken the kids to WDW in 2008, 2009, & 2010 and during those trips, found ourselves visiting a lot of the same restaurants on each trip. We have taken a two year break to see other parts of the country and are now planning a return visit next summer (2013) As I begin to think of what TS restaurants to dine at, I find myself referring back to our "regularly visited" restaurants from previous trips. I'm ready to "mix it up" and am looking for your suggestions. My kids will be 7 & 9 on our next trip and then only 2 meals they have requested is CRT and Chef Mickey's. We'll probably go with the Dining Plan (depending on pin deals available for next summer)

So, what other TS dining spots have your kids of similar ages really enjoyed, both in the parks and out on property (DTD, Resorts, Boardwalk, etc.) My DS is an adventurous eater and likes to try new things and as long as there are chicken tenders, nuggets, strips, etc on the kid's menu, my DD will be good to go.

Thanks for helping us dig our way out of our dining rut :thumbsup2

There will be the new Be Our Guest restaurant at MK.

Have you tried Teppan Edo, our grandkids love to watch the chefs cook on the table.

Love Hoop de Doo at Fort Wilderness and Trails End buffet is very tasty.

We love the character buffet breakfast at Cape May at Beach Club

Yak & Yeti at AK is very good.

Perfect! We haven't tried any of these on previous trips. Thanks for the suggestions!

I just started researching seriously too. We love cape may and plan on eating there as well.

Other choices I have been reading good things about:
Yak and yeti and Teppan Edo as above, and la hacienda de San angel and via Napoli get great reviews too. Good luck!

Not sure what you have already tried.

I'll give more votes for Teppan Edo and Yak & Yeti !

Teppan Edo has been a family tradition for years... we returned to Yak & Yeti actually both restaurants May 2012 and LOVED them...

Looks like I have my own rut to dig out of next visit !

Have a magical visit !

Sounds like Cape May, Teppan Edo & Yak & Yeti definitely need to find their way into our plans.

Thinking about adding Hoop de doo & Whispering Canyon Cafe too.

Any other suggestions in World Showcase? We'll probably eat their two nights & generally do San Angel Inn. If we do Teppan Edo one evening what would be another good option for the 2nd night?

Boma, Whispering Canyon Cafe and Cape May are all my favourites. We also enjoyed the Crystal Palace (of course cuz Eeyore is there), but food was good too.

If you like pizza Via Napoli gets great reviews. It also got a 100% approval rating in the Unofficial Guide.

We'd be going there on our next trip.. but my DH is having dietary issues and cannot eat cheese, so unfortunately we can't!

Resorts: I agree with Cape May Cafe breakfast! Great food and fun characters :) Whispering Canyoon Cafe is fun and lively...we used to order the skillet but really enjoyed ordering ala carte last time...good options! 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian was great for breakfast and dinner. Kona was good for lunch and a nice break from the heat. 'Ohana character breakfast is fun, dinner (no characters) is fun (they doa conga line for kids) and wonderful food!

AK: Tusker House character breakfast is delicious and includes Daisy which is a rare find! Yak & Yeti was great, too.

DHS: We love 50s Prime Time Cafe...great milkshakes, too :)

MK: Crystal Palace for any meal...the restaurant is really beautiful, plus great characters and food. Liberty Tree Tavern is a favorite...amazing pot roast if you like that and yummy desserts!

Epcot: Via Napoli was great! Le Cellier is also very good but is two TS credits on the DDP, not sure if you'd want to use two for that. If you like seafood, Coral Reef might be nice to try since it has a view of the aquarium.

Now I'm hungry :hyper:

Another vote for Via Napoli, Yak and Yeti and HDDR.

We also like Garden Grill at Epcot. I know it's a character meal (not sure if you've ever been), but Chip and Dale make this the best character meal experience hands down.

Our 6 year old daughter LOVES 1900 Park Fare for dinner! The characters are so funny! :)

My kids ( 10 and 12) top picks are:

1.Tusker House breakfast( food selection, and characters)
2.Trex or Rainforest( atmosphere and mushroom ravioli)
3.Le Cellier( pretzel bread, filet and mushroom risotto. Moose dessert and berry smoothies
4.Boma ( variety of food)
5.Ohana's( potstickers and dessert)
6.Cape May Clambake( drawing on the paperlined table, breakfast and dinner)
7.Whispering Canyon ( entertainment)
8.Yachtsmen ( for the Mickey Mac and Cheese and Puzzle Dessert)
9.Luau ( chicken, ribs, volcano dessert and firethrower dude)
10.Hoop de du ( entertainment and chicken)
11. Gala Feast ( characater interaction at breakfast and dinner)

Other places we have dined are Artist Point,Jiko, Narcosses, Fultons,Cinderellas Castle. Tutto. They liked but nothing stands out.

We do the same, have gone for several consecutive years and often do the same restaraunts.

This year I am adding Ragland Road, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Via Napoli all for lunch!:thumbsup2

OP...

DS and I did Le Cellier in May 2010 and fell in love with it...

Took whole family (6) there May 2012 and I've NEVER had a meal where everyone absolutely RAVED about their food before this !

Lunch is 1 TS on the dining plan currently however we ate OOP...

it's almost a problem now because we LOVE Teppan Edo and now Le Cellier so much I don't know how we will branch out in World Showcase ?

(I've done Le Chefs, Biergarten, Coral Reef before but SO SO long ago they don't "count" anymore)

Another thought (that I have not tried) is Alkershus Princess meals?

Have a magical visit !

Mary

A few of our favorites are Boma, Cape May (breakfast and dinner are must do's for us every trip), and Ohana's :goodvibes.

I asked my girls what their favorite places for the food were on our trip this past September. They were 6 and 8 at the time.

1: BOMA!!!! (hands down favorite!)
2: Teppan Edo
3: Prime Time 50's

The Princess breakfast won for fave character meal followed by Chef Mickeys.

We ate at 1900 Park Faire(dinner,) Chef Mickey's (dinner,) Boma, Teppan Edo, Prime Time 50's, Le Cellier (lunch,) 'Ohana (dinner) and Akershus (breakfast.) We also ate at T-Rex (lunch) and paid OOP because we met a visiting friend at DTD. The atmosphere was way better than the food there to us.

My girls are adventurous eaters but also like the standard "kid food" too.

We also had a chat about where we would go again and what we would drop. 1900 Park Fair and 'Ohana were the casualties. We might also drop Prime Time to try Sci Fi to mix it up a little.

We got stuck in a rut, too, with TS restaurant choices. This year, we decided we are doing all new (to us) TS and not repeating any we've done in the past. The only reason I hestitate is because I hate to not eat at Kona, and DS is really going to miss Teppan Edo.

Our choices:

Wave dinner
Biergarten dinner
Flying Fish
Liberty Tree Tavern lunch
Tokyo Dining dinner
Kouzzina dinner
Sanaa dinner

I'm really excited to try something new every night of our trip! My kids are both pretty adventurous eaters, so I like the fact that there are a few different types of eateries on our list.

Tusker House safari breakfast at AK
Coral Reef at Epcot
Sci Fic Diner at HS
Crystal Palace at MK
And favorite of ours: Ohana for supper

These are some favorites (1 credit):

DHS-Sci-Fi and 50s Prime Time

EPCOT- Via Napoli & Tepan Edo

MK-Crystal Palace, LTT (lunch)--can't wait to try Be Our Guest

AK-Y&Y

Resorts:

Poly-Kona

WL-Whispering Canyon

AK-Boma

DTD-Ragland Road

We have tried all the signatures and enjoyed them as well. HDDMR is a real hoot!
