Hello to all. It has been a few months since I have been here. Life got in the way. Had to have an operation(emergency surgery). Then I was so sick after. Then the Holidays came and now I am back to school. But, I had to come and announce that we have already started the planning for our trip in October. We will be in the park from the 5th through the 11th. I am so excited.
Husband asked me what I am doing writing on here since I should be planning our trip for Six Flags MM for next month. I told him that planning this is MUCH more fun.
Already booked our hotel. Did two rooms since we are allowing one of our girls to bring a friend(who know that adding one kid could cost thousands more?).
I wish we didn't have to wait so long for them to release dates for the party.
Ok I got my fix for the day. Will be back to post when I have more to tell.

So hubby told oldest dd she could bring a friend if she made her goal of 1,000,000 words read. She was no where near there(read about 250,000). However, our 3rd grader who had a goal of 500,000 said about mid-year that she could do it. Well, I am very proud to say that she made it last week. She will be taking her friend with her. We have to get 2 hotel rooms(cheaper than a suite). We also have to rent a minivan. Not to mention the ticket cost(regular and MHP), costume, food, and souvenir money it will cost us for her to go(trip was $4500 last time-this time about $7000) and worth every penny. Now no one has to ride alone.

We have reservations for Anaheim plaza. This will be our 3rd stay. I am making our boarding reservations for the dog and possibly cat(she is our newest family member- may take her with us)next week. Waiting to book van until later. Hubby's b-day is the 11th(day we are supposed to leave) so we may stay a little while that day-we will see.

I already ordered some pins for each of the girls to trade. We had a blast last time. And we bought a huge amount too. I even bought pins for the other girl so she won't be left out. Still need to get her a couple lanyards.

I have been on a weight loss journey since February. I have lost 30lbs so far. Want to lose another 40-50 by October. I know I can do it. I plan on sticking to my diet somewhat at Disney. But, I am going to enjoy the foods I love(just in moderation.)

Ok off to read some TRs from last year.

So, figure I should introduce us.
This is me! I am 37. I could move into Disneyland. This pic is from Oct 2010. Hoping to be about 80lbs lighter this trip.

This is hubby. He is 32. He is just as much of a Disney person as I am though he won't admit it. No Disney pic of him...gonna have to upload some.

The girls. Jese is the oldest on the right. She will be 11 for this trip. KK is the middle and she is on the left. She's 9. And Adri, in the middle, is the youngest at 7.

We also have KK's friend going. Shis is 8. No pic of her yet.
Ugh someone tell me what size you guys use for pictures...mine are HUGE!

Ugh price increase gets us again. So we won't have our money to buy tickets til September. And yet again this year we have to pay more because of it. Looks like around $350 more...ugh. Oh well, we are still going and still gonna have a BLAST.

Narrowing down food places lately...
Definately
Blue Bayou
Big Thunder Ranch BBQ
Rancho del Zocalo
Plaza Inn(have never been)
Taste Pilots

Maybes
Carnation Cafe
Character Meal(we loved Minnie's but will prob do a different one)
River Belle
Stage Door
New places in DCA
Jolly Holiday
Harbour Galley

We all love the churros so we will be getting those. My youngest loved the dole whip so she wants one of those. And we love the treats at Pooh's. And I am definately getting a funnel cake this trip(never had one though I have planned on it every trip).

After seeing the Carthay Circle menu I am thinking that it may be one of our restaurant choices...if they consider a salad an entree. Nothing else on there is in my "diet" or is something I would eat(seafood...blech). Hoping someone will report back soon. Also thinking the new cone place sounds terribly bad but, something my family would like(the popcorn). So we will probably be making a stop there.

Its great to hear about your progress so far. Reminds me of what all I still have to do! :lmao. Glad to hear you're doing better after your surgery!

Sounds like you are doing great in your planning so far. I'm planning a trip for myself, my 6 kids, my parents, and my middle brother & family, during Thanksgiving this year. It will be a first trip for many in the group. I've been staying up late scouring the forums for things we must see, things we must eat, and characters we must meet. lol :thumbsup2

Talked to hubby and we are going to buy passes this year and plan on making a couple more trips(probably in February and March). Hubby wants to take the youngest's friend next time as she has NEVER been to Disneyland.
No new plans yet, still waiting to hear more about Carsland and about the WOC package from Carthay Circle. Usually by now I would have everything on paper but this year it seems to be different somehow. Thanks to all that are reading.

So, I haven't updated in awhile. Had to have surgery on Wednesday. Will be out of commission for the next 6 weeks. But, should be good to go by Disney time. I made the reservations for Big Thunder BBQ and Blue Bayou. Still need to call for Carthay and Carnation Cafe...just need to decide days.

So...we got some very good yet very bad news yesterday. My hubby who has worked at a company temporarily for the last 2 and a half years has been offered a position with the parent company permanently. This is so great. More money...benefits. However, this means he is not allowed to miss any days of work for 90 days. And we want him to not miss for a year. So, there goes Disneyland. We will still go. But, out almost 7 day trip will now be for 2 days. Kids are really disappointed. Can't say that I am not a little myself but, I know that we need this job.
