Anyone ever order tickets for sporting events through stub hub? Was it a good experience?

I ordered Cubs vs. Braves tickets for my DH for our 10th anniversary but the email stated the seller hadn't received the tickets yet and the estimated date of delivery is April 1st. (the game is April 5th)...They have already charged my card though...should I worry? This is my first time ordering sporting event tickets so I have no clue. :confused3

I ordered from them a few weeks ago - Phillies tix for my MIL for Christmas.

I was also told the tix would be sent to me in a few months (can't recall the actual date).

One of my co-workers swears by Stub Hub. He buys lots of Flyers & Eagles tix off the site, and has had very good luck.

I think we'll be ok.

I ordered tickets for DS & DH before through Stub Hub for a Titans game. The season had already started though so the tickets came pretty quickly. I'd say they are probably season ticket holders (lots of them resale their tickets) and as soon as they receive their packet they should send them out to you. No idea though on how far in advance the tickets are received.

Ordered tix for my parents to last season's American Idol concert. All went well.

Earlier this month, I bought Winter Classic tickets thru Stub Hub and got the same message about delayed shipping. They were scheduled to ship on 12/21, but ended up shipping early. I received them on 12/16. Maybe the same will happen?

Once Stub Hub charges your card, you are covered by their gaurantee.

I have used them eveytime successfully.

Hard tix for season tix holders won't get to them until March or so. I wouldn't worry.

Plus Stub Hub does offer a money back guarantee, I did use it once. The issue was not their fault but a FedEx thief. I got my money back no problem.

I used them to get Jonas Bros concert ticket this summer. I had no problems!

We have bought through StubHub (Radio City Christmas Spectacular) and sold through StubHub (Baltimore Orioles tickets). Worked great.

Your seller is probably a season ticket holder, not a surprise that they don't have tickets yet, although they should receive them well in advance of your projected April 1 delivery date.

I used them last year for Rays vs Yankees opening day tickets. I ordered early February and got them in April a few days before the game so your delivery estimate is probably pretty accurate. We were already in Florida when the tickets where delivered to my house. I had to have my brother UPS next day them to us. It was quite stressful.

I agree with the pp who said you are probably buying from a season ticket holder. You have to wait for them to get the tickets (March or so).

My sons (I think we used them once too) used Stub Hub all the time and have never had any problems.

I bought tickets through Stub Hub last year for a Red Sox vs. Tampa game in Tampa. Tickets came before the projected date and were exactly what we expected - Front row in left field between Jason Bay and Jacoby Ellsbury! :woohoo: They were from a season ticket holder. I would buy from them again and try to get the same seats, if possible!

If it helps your comfort level, Stub Hub has been owned by eBay for almost three years.

I haven't used Stub Hub but know many people who used TicketsNow.com for the U.S Open Tennis tournament. You have to read the description of the tickets carefully and hope the person selling the tickets has been accurate on the details too. I know some people who ended up in a different section, sent the wrong date than what was listed, or never received their tickets in time. :headache:

There is also a problem in what happens if the event is cancelled or rescheduled. WHO gets the refund or WHAT address is the new ticket sent to? Technically, it would go to the person's credit card & address who originally bought the tickets. :confused3

It's these variables you have to watch out for when getting second-hand tickets.

My husband sells his season football tickets through them and also buys from them.

They are on the up and up. :thumbsup2

I have purchased many tickets (all sporting events) through StubHub and have never had a problem. For any sold out event or hard-to-get tickets, this is where I go.

My DD uses Stub Hub frequently for sporting events. I used them for Kenny Chesney tickets. Never had any problems:thumbsup2!

I love stub hub!! I order ALL my tickets from them!! I had the same thing happen last year when I ordered tickets to the Fiesta Bowl. The tickets were set to arrive the day before we left town (We had to travel to Arizona for the game!) I called stub hub and they were wonderful! I was worried they wouldnt come and they assured me I would get them and in case something did come up, they gave me several options including overnighting the tickets to my hotel if need be! My tickets arrived the day they were suppossed to and it was great!

I only oreder from them! I like that they will do anything to help you or refund your money!!

Bought DW a Stub Hub gift certificate 2 years ago. She hasn't used it yet, but from what I hear, it's all good.:)
