Stub Hub-Please Ease My Mind

I just bought 6 tickets to see One Direction in August. This is my daughter's HUGE Christmas gift. She is taking her friends. I know she is going to love it.

Now my worry sets in. These tickets aren't even on sale yet, but I have read good reviews about Stub Hub.

Until this morning. I read some reviews where girls showed up all excited to see Taylor Swift and the Stub Hub tix were fakes. The issue was not with getting refunded (Stub Hub refunded their credit card right away), but it was with girls being crushed that they could not get in to the concert.

We are driving 4 hours one way for this concert in August. My daughter will be devastated and I will me embarrassed if all of these girls are turned away at the gates.

So PLEASE reassure me these tickets will be legit. How can someone even sell them if they aren't for sale yet? Is it a bad thing that I bought them this early?

These thoughts are running through my mind:scared:

I do think its odd that you were able to buy the tickets prior to them being on sale. I usually think of Stub Hub as a resale site. Is there anyway to inquire about them (call Stub Hub customer service??)

I will say that I have used Stub Hub multiple times for athletic events and concerts and never had an issue.

Depending on the venue some presale tickets have been sold. However, it does seem slightly sketchy & I would absolutely confirm with the venue & stub hub that they are authentic.

Stub Hub is fine. They do have guarantees if the tickets are not good. My son used them for Hockey games, and he was able to verify the tickets. I would request the confirmation for the tickets and make sure an adult waits until they are in the concert.

One Direction did go on sale for people with Citi Cards so don't worry about them not being available to the general public yet.

Good Luck!

Instead of paying a premium before tickets went on sale, why didnt u wait to see if you could get them at cost when they did go on sale?

Ive bought through stub hub and vivid seats and never had an issue but yes there are reviews that people have been sold fakes.

stub hub is pretty good they have a will call set up close by at most events that can replace tickets if there is a problem, just keep the info with you

I wanted to give them (or the receipt in this case) for a Christmas present. Also, I think One Direction is going to sell out in minutes when they officially go on sale.

I just didn't know Stub Hub was that risky:guilty: It is not the money I am worried about, as I am confident they will give me my money back if there is an issue.

It is the broken hearts of excited, young teen girls that is my concern.

My son bought 3 tickets to the Islander game last night at StubHub.

While they lost (in overtime no less) they had no problem with the tickets.

A friend of ours just bought 1D tickets for a present for her daughter. She tried to buy them the minute they went on sale, but they sold out almost immediately and she didn't get any.

She turned around and bought them on Stub Hub. The gift includes plane tickets to get to the concert, so not a cheap expenditure. She is not at all worried about them being fake.

I recently bought Selena Gomez tickets on Stub Hub for a birthday party. I had the same worries as you that I would show up with a gaggle of girls looking forward to a Selena party and they would be turned away at the door. Everything went fine.

Since the people will not make any money if they are fakes / unusable, you should be fairly confident that you will get tickets.

I sell tix on stub hub all the time and my tix are legit. Keep in mind I am a PSL holder at a major University venue. I am given the opportunity to buy my seats for concerts ahead of time. I could easily but them on stub hub knowing I will get them well ahead of the concert.

Op, you are aware that if the concert gets cancelled for any reason, the original ticket buyer will get refunded the money. It won't automatically go to you. I think they are also responsible for any exchanges. Unless Stub Hub has changed that policy recently.

But, in past years, as I attended the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament and a match got cancelled because of rain, I watched how the people that bought through Stub Hub or TicketsNow, were soooo screwed. They couldn't get a refund or exchange directly.

I bought my Taylor swift tickets on stub hub and they were legit. Expensive-but real.

But Stub Hub would refund the money to them.

Doesn't the money go to the ORIGINAL person who purchased the tickets? Not the re-buyer? As in, the box office refunds back to the credit card listed who purchased the ticket. Then the original person has to refund the money to the re-buyer? Or does Stub Hub do that?

I just know I always saw a LOT of angry, frustrated people when there has been a rain cancellation and the Stub Hub buyers always ran around wondering what was going to happen to their tickets.

If the event is cancelled or postponed:
If an event is cancelled and will not occur at a later date, we will provide you with a refund for the cost of the tickets, including service fees and shipping and handling charges. We will notify you that the event was cancelled by sending you an email which will provide instructions on how to obtain the refund.

If an event is postponed or rescheduled, you may use the tickets on the rescheduled date or, time permitting, list them for sale on StubHub. If an event is postponed but replacement tickets are required for entry to the event on the rescheduled date, StubHub will work to obtain replacement tickets for you. If we cannot obtain replacement tickets for you, StubHub will provide you a refund for the cost of the tickets, including service fees and shipping and handling charges. If you cannot attend the event on the rescheduled date and you are unable or unwilling to relist them for sale on StubHub, call us immediately at 1.866.STUBHUB (1.866.788.2482) and we will inform you of what you need to do to obtain a full or partial credit (the amount of the credit is within StubHub's sole discretion) toward a future purchase; this may require that you return the tickets. If you are required to return the tickets, StubHub will provide you instructions.

We use stubhub for tickets to college and professional sporting events at least a half dozen times a year. We've yet to run into any issues with tickets. Hope the girls have fun.

Nice! Good to know the details. :thumbsup2

The person who originally purchased the tickets will get a refund from say TicketMaster. But the STUBHUB will refund the person who purchased from StubHub.
