I am sure many of you know about the WAL MART super stores in Orlando but for those who do not , you must go to one. They had the rain ponchos for 2.97 better quality than those in the parks for 6.00. They had a huge area with Disney merchandise. Tee shirts for 5.00(made in USA) and a very nice light weight tote bag with the Dis logo on it for only 4.99.

For those of you with young ones, they had the fold up Cosco strollers for 10.95!!!!! Use it and then either throw it away or donate it when you leave. Sure beats 8.00 a day for the ones at Disney.

The fans with the water bottle minus the Disney logo were only 5.97!! A far cry from the 15.00 they charge in the park. I checked out all this stuff and found that most of the time there was little if any difference between the quality of the mdse sold in the park and that at WAL Mart. The only differece was the HUGE price difference.

If you are unsure where they are located you can go to walmart.com and they will give you a list of the many locations in Fla.

I live to shop!!

Thanks for the post. It looks like we will have to make a stop. Especially for the rain ponchos...looks like a lot of rain for our 1st trip to WDW.

Where is the Wal Mart? On our last trip we found a K Mart but I never saw a Wal Mart. That stroller is just what we will need on our next trip!

I assume this is the small "umbrella" type strollers? Couldn't possibly hold a 5 yo, could it? Probably not. I think we will have to rent one for him. Today I had him in a "Mills" Mall (large) and he was begining to complain about the walking.

Hi crazymomof4!
My 5 year old fits in an "umbrella" type stroller. If you aren't sure if your son will fit go to babies r us and let him sit in one. That way you'll see how he fits. I know the "Mills" mall you speak of......you must be very brave .... ....it was probably packed......unless they all are on their way "down the shore". (That's my neck of the woods and boy is it CRAZY here!!!! )

My DD is 16 now, but when she was 5, we used the umbrella stroller. It was much better than trying to have her walk.

I think it's better to get ponchos before you leave home. I got ponchos from Sportsmart at $0.99 each.

I buy the cheap little plastic ponchos for water rides and stuff because I HATE walking around wet. When it actually rains I like the nicer ones.

We've been to the Orlando Wal Mart.

We've purchased our dd2 her 1st Dis t-shirt (she's only 1 1/2) and NICE t's for the rest of us at a decent price. We didn't get ponchos last trip & really regretted it! It's the 1st thing on our list for our trip in Jan 04.

We will be making a stop there after we visit the Costo.
JUST watch out for those crazy grocery carts. I did 1K damage to the van. :Pinkbounc

I saw at least 3 Wal Mart Super stores when we were there. It depends on where you are staying . I think this one was on 195 a few miles down from the famous or infamous Gator Motel. Iknow there is one somewhere on Sandlake Road too. If you log on to Wal Mart .com it will not only give you the locations but it will give you a map provided you give them a starting point in Orlando.

As to the strollers, I think they would hold a light weight 5 year old but the thing is if you use it and it breaks Wal Mart will give you your money back. Also if you are unsure they had some more expensive but still cheap ones for around 25.00. If you are plannig on renting for more than three days I would buy one of these and you will end up still in the plus column. The thing I like most is that your child is the only one who will be sitting in it. God knows what has happened to the ones used at the parks. I mean if you are the type of parent that will not let your child sit on a toilet seat in a public rest room then I am imagining you would not want them riding in a stroller that might have similar germs. Maybe it is me but those strollers look so gross.
