Strollers in the restaurant?

I know this is an odd question but are strollers allowed in the restaurants? I ask this because I will have a 2 1/2 year old and a roughly 6 month old with me and while my toddler would do fine in one of those high chairs, my little binky butt would have nowhere to sit/lay and I would like to enjoy my food rather than try shoveling it down my throat before he/she reaches for it because I have to hold him/her!:lmao:

Generally, if the baby can sit up, they give you a hard time about the stroller. We took my youngest son when he was 4 months, and it was touch and go. Some restaurants were ok with the stroller, others weren't. The ones that weren't were mostly the ones that had infant seats (which I HATE to use because they're filthy!). Best of luck!...it's a juggle!

I too was wondering this. I will have a nine month old that although she can sit up on her own we have many reservations that are after 7 p.m. so that she can sleep in the stroller while we deal with our other children....I hope if the baby is sleeping snuggly they will not ask me to remove her

Some restaurants don't permit strollers at all, they need to be parked outside. I'm not up on which ones exactly. If you want a restaurant in the Land pavilion, you can't even bring strollers into the building.

We were at 50's PT and our DS fell asleep. I was going to wait outside with him while he slept and when DH was done eating then I would go eat, but they said absolutely not and wheeled him right in and sat us in a quiet corner. They were so wonderful about it all.

OP- Strollers are very difficult places like Sci fi and Chef Mickey's will not allow them. Good luck and just go with the flow. I had a sling for DS when he was you so I could eat.

In our experience, the only time we were allowed to bring a stroller in was when my DD was sleeping. Even then they didn't always let us and I would have to hold her while I ate because she was sleeping. I totally understand this because they don't want them blocking the pathways.

I just had to post this picture to show our experience. This was at O'Hana

The photo above is DD4, DS 6months and Dnephew 3. This picture is actually taken from under the table. the servers moved the chairs from that side of the table and pushed the 3 strollers up to the table. They slept the entire dinner and we got them dinner at MK when they woke up.

That is too funny! And as I recall, our stroller was allowed at O'Hana as well.

We went back to WDW again when the baby was 10 months and that time, the baby was allowed to stay in the stroller if he was sleeping about 80% of the time.

The restaurants I recall having leniency were: 1900 Park Fare, California Grill, O'Hana's, Coral Reef, Teppan Edo, San Angel Inn, Hollywood & Vine. The biggest sticklers: Tony's Town Square (wouldn't budge!) and Chef Mickey's.

I agree with a PP and suggest bringing a sling...I took one on both visits and it allowed me to actually eat!

It really depends on the CM at the restaurant. We were able to let DS sleep in his stroller one night while we had dinner at GG. The CM at the entrance to the Land at first said no but then when I said something about everyone else going to eat dinner and I'd stay outside with him they let me in. Most restaurants have those reclined infant seats and if you ask they will lay cloth napkins on them. We used a backpack carrier that had a kickstand so that DS always had a place to sit regardless of where we were and prior to the backpack carrier he was in a cling or infant carrier - neither are ideal but both worked really well. In some of the restaurants they pack you in so tight that there really is no room for strollers so we always traveled with wet wipes and I'd wipe the highchairs down first.

You can always ask, but have a back up plan in the event you can't.Alot of the places don't simply because you are basically seated on top of each other.Places like Le cellier that are tiny to begin with and that have such tight seating it makes it very difficult for servers and other restaurant patrons to get around

We showed up at Boma 2 different times with DS asleep in the stroller and they let us roll it up next to our table. Boma is very spacious though. Places that are much more cramped may ask you to park it near the entrance.

We are planning to do ADR's at

Boma (breakfast)
Kona (Breakfast)
Ohana (dinner)
Whispering Canyon (dinner)
CP (breakfast)
Tusker House (breakfast)
And was thinking Le Cellier but up in the air about it now!

Boma and Liberty Tree Tavern allowed us to bring our stroller in, but the only reason I even asked is b/c DS was sleeping in it. Otherwise we would park it outside.

There is a massive amount of stroller parking outside Crystal Palace. Don't know if that means stollers are never allowed inside, as I've never actually gone inside there.

It really depends on the CM. My DS was sound asleep and they made us park it. I cannot recall which restaurant though. We never tried again after that.

When We ate there in Dec 09 they were not allowing strollers in, but they do pack the tables pretty tightly together. Not sure if this is all the time, or just because it was crazy crowded and backed up

We have traveled many times to WDW with small babies and we have always been allowed to bring in a stroller to any restaurant that doesn't offer infant high chairs (such as Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's). I simply tell them when I book that baby cannot sit up yet (or not sit up well enough for a high chair), then I mention it again at check in that we will have to bring the stroller inside since baby cannot sit up. Although our most recent trip DD was 6 months old, we were still allowed to bring a stroller into every restaurant. We have even brought our double Combi stroller. Some of the restaurants we have taken the stroller include:
Ohana
Kona
LeCellier
ESPN
Big River Grille (outside)
Narcoosses
Rose and Crown
San Angel Inn
Beaches and Cream ( yes this is a tight fit but they placed us at the table by the door)
Boma
The Plaza at MK

(I know there are others, can't recall them right now!)

You will be fine. I have heard people on these boards have been given a hard time with strollers in restaurants, but honestly it has never happened to us once in all of our trips with little ones. Enjoy your trip!:goodvibes

.

Really??? We have found that the restaurants are very good about allowing strollers in whenever an infant high chair is not available. We have never once been told to park our stroller in all of our trips.:confused3

LeCellier allowed us to bring our double Combi stroller in this past New Year's Eve. We sat at the table near the entrance.

CP has infant high chairs so you won't need the stroller there.

We have taken the stroller into Boma, Kona and Ohana. I can't speak for WP and TH.

CP let us take our stroller in last May 09 when our DD was sleeping. In fact we have several pics of all the characters posing w/ her while she slept. Tigger even teased me by pretending to shake the stroller and wake her up until I told him that if he woke her, she was his responsibility. :)
