We are bringing a 5 month old in a stroller when we go to a restaurant because we won't have the car seat with us. Do most places allow this? We have ressies at...
House of Blues
Le cellier
Crystal Palace
Ohana
Rainforest Cafe
Sci-Fi
Planet Hollywood
Kona
Raglan Rd

The one I'm most concerned about is Sci-Fi because the stroller will have to sit outside the car or she can lay the baby down on the seat next to her. But also I wonder about some of the places that the tables are close together.

Has anyone else had to do this? :flower3:

As far as I know no strollers are allowed in any of the restaurants. Only exception (that I can think of) to that would be if the stroller were being used as a wheelchair for the child.

The only places we ate on your list (though Le Cellier is one I most definitely want to book for our next trip) were Crystal Palace and Ohana and I never seen a stroller at either of them. We parked our stroller outside at CP along with everyone else.

i think that maybe just maybe if they are sleeping they migh just might let you but no guarantee
there are really tight spaces
ours did not sleep at all thru any meal last year!
we used the high chairs
they did ok!:)

I would suggest parking the stroller outside and using a high chair.

As a mom, I know the concern of high chair germs. I just carry along Clorox disinfectant wipes with me and wipe down the high chair before placing my little guy in it (three kids all boys, my answer is always little guy ;) )

The place I'd worry MORE about germs is changing tables. Not in Disney but at the Mall of America, my first son got Rotovirus and had to be hospitalized. Now they are vaccinating for Rotovirus, but I'd suggest diaper changes on a pad laid out in the stroller before I'd worry overmuch about a high chair.

That's my personal level of comfort, every person is different. I understand that :goodvibes

In almost all cases, strollers are not permitted in the restaurants. It's more of a safety issue than anything else. A stroller really can't fit into the same space as a chair so the servers and everyone else would have to walk around it. Also, if there is an accident and hot food or drink is spilled into the stroller, well.......

If your child uses the stroller as a wheelchair, it is permitted to bring it in. In some cases, if the child is asleep and it's not an issue for where your table is located, a stroller can be brought in. But I would not count on that at all.

You can compare a Disney restaurant to any one in the outside world. I don't see strollers being brought into TFI Friday's or Chili's.

I took our stroller into a bunch of TS restaurants while at Disney when my son was 3 months old. People do it all the time there. He was too small to sit in a high chair at that age (and he wasn't able to until about 7 months old in those wooden high chairs). A few of the character meals have the infant chairs but not most of the restaurants on property which I really don't get :confused3 Now, they could obviously see my son was too small for a high chair....I think they would make you leave the stroller outside if they are big enough to sit in the highchair. If your baby can't sit in a high chair, make sure to let them know that.

On that trip we didn't eat at any restaurants that weren't disney owned, but we didn't have a problem bring our stroller in anywhere (and it was the first week of June, so it was pretty busy).

We always leave our stroller outside but I'm not sure of the actual stroller rules for the restaurants.

I do know that Le Cellier has their tables uncomfortably close. I was uncomfortable being so close to my neighbor table so I know where we were sitting, there was no room for a stroller.

Where we sat a Ohana, there was room for a stroller. We had big, round corner table. But again, I'm not sure if it's allowed or not.

I used to work in a Disney restaurant and we always let strollers inside, especially if the child was sleeping. You just need to let the CM know at check in and include the child in the party count and they will do their best to accomodate you. It might not be the best table but they will try to accomodate you. And if they can't they will give you other options.

Thank you for the help, the child is not old enough to sit in a high chair he will be almost 5 months when we go.

It would be completely uncomfortable to have to hold him while we eat.

Since some of you say they allow it then I will be go with that one.

THANK YOU!:thumbsup2

Okay, but keep in mind, Disney has the final say :) "But six people on the DIS said I could bring the stroller into the restaurant!" probably won't cut it.

Strollers are strongly discourage, however they are not banned completely. You're best bet is to call and have them note on your ADRs that you will have a infant in a stroller. That way they can plan to give you a table that is more stroller friendly. I had no problems when I went with my 2 month old and again when she was 5 months. I am also a CM and can tell you that I have waited on plenty of tables with strollers at them. Just do yourself a favor and give them advanced notice!

Last trip when DD was 8 months, we were able to bring our stroller into Le Cellier's & Teppan Edo. She fell asleep midway through our meal at Le Cellier's & they let DH go out to get her stroller to nap in.

My son was 6 months old when he took his first trip and the only restaurant that let the stroller come in was Rainforest Cafe at DD. He was asleep and they let me roll him in - but I believe we waited extra for a table in the corner where he wouldn't be in the way. He sat in a high chair the rest of the meals. My daughter bought this neat little high-chair cover for the baby she babysits for at a consignment shop -- it slips over the wooden high-chairs and covers every inch of he seat where the baby would touch - and it even has toys attached to keep her occupied - also folds into and little pouch that would be easy to carry in he basket under the stroller. I know she was using it by 5 months of age because the baby is only 6 months now and she's had it for a long time.

Last year when we ate at the Crystal Palace both of my boys were asleep in their strollers. The CM told us we could bring the strollers in without us even asking! We were so grateful and we ate our first plate in peace and quiet before waking them up!

Our youngest DD had her first Disney trip at 3 months. Depending on the restaurant, we had different options for her.

We were offered an Infant High Chair at:

Chef Mickey's
Garden Grill

We were allowed to bring in her stroller (Peg Perego P3) to:

Hoop Dee Doo
Marrakesh
Cape May
Le Cellier

Only at San Angel did we have to hold her. I had brought along a Pouch Sling though so there was no problem. HTH

I took my DD at 5 months and took the stroller into all resturaunts. Le Cellier initially said I couldn't bring the stroller in but when I pointed out that she was sleeping they let me. All the other resturaunts I went to it wasn't an issue. Keep in mind this was in Sept before Free Dining started so none of the TS I went to were busy. No one offered me an infant highchair. I didn't even know that they existed then. This was 6 yrs ago.
