Strollers in resort restaurants

First trip with a baby coming up so I never paid attention to this detail the million times I’ve been in the hotels. For resort restaurants do you have to leave your stroller outside the restaurant? Or can it be brought to the table? Is it the same for all resort restaurants or it depends?

It depends on the restaurant and if there is room. If baby is asleep in the stroller, they will do what they can to accommodate. If baby is awake and there isn't room at the table they have assigned to you, you may have to leave it outside. Signature restaurants have always been more accommodating for us. The Mexico restaurant on the water in Epcot is the only restaurant that wouldn't let us bring in the stroller with 2 sleeping kids so we let my parents dine instead. I'm not waking up 2 sleeping toddlers . Which restaurants are you concerned about?

specifically the restaurant at the Rivera, chef Mickey and grand Floridan cafe. My baby kind of sets her own nap schedule so I’ll have no idea if she’ll be napping or not at the time.

For Chef Mickey's definitely the stroller stays out in the atrium. I've only seen strollers outside of GFC as well. Never been to Topolino's but would assume the same. As pp said they may be able to accommodate a sleeping baby in a stroller but assume it's not likely.

I think that you will find that most do not allow strollers in them, especially those that used to be buffets. Too many people walking around with hot food for it to be safe. It is even a hazard for servers. Your best bet would be to ask at the restaurant. Have a fun trip.

I am a seater at Sanaa and while we do allow them at the table, you may have a bit of a longer wait at some places depending if the table we would have put you at could accommodate a stroller or if you need to wait for a different table to open. We do prefer it stayed parked outside the restaurant, but it does happen, kids fall asleep and we will find a way!!

We have dined at Disney a million times since DS was born (he's 22 months) and we've only brought a stroller in once - and that was at Boma. He was asleep and they seated us at an out of the way table with space behind it so we could park him.

It is rare you see a stroller and with capacity getting back up, it's super hard to find a spot to park them. Never hurts to ask, though!

One other question for masks I see it’s required in restaurants. Is that for when you walk to the table and can take off at the table or you only can have it off after food has arrived and have to put back on as soon as we finish eating?

If you are moving around the restaurant (going to the bathroom) you should put it back on. I was there in April when they were required all the time, inside and outside. A few restaurants told me I could take it off when they sat me, some didn't say anything. I usually put mine back on after I was done eating but all the places I ate at were pretty good about bringing the check and getting payment before I was actually done so it was just finish put the mask on and leave.

I could see that in some restaurants like Le Cellier where the tables are crammed in. But some are spacious

I don’t think fire codes work like that with strollers being allowed in some same use locales and not others; not really logical.

I bumped a stroller coming in the ECV/wheelchair door. heard the server ask the parents to move stroller because an ECV was coming in the door and mother's response was baby was sleeping and out of the way. stroller shook as I bumped back wheels and of course baby woke up. mother was complaining rest of meal because they did not make my husband and teen daughter carry me and ECV up the steps as they had to carry stroller. and yes the tables were spaced out so there can be other things to look at

It is not against fire code, but it is something that can be dangerous. Depending on how much room there is between tables and the layout of the restaurant, it can very much be a tripping hazard. I have worked in restaurants and after seeing many people run into and trip on strollers, I would never leave my child in one.

We’ll probably leave the stroller in the car and just carry the baby in. Plan is to take some pictures of her around the resort before our meals we aren’t staying at any of the resorts this trip

And OP - traditionally we've always had to leave the stroller out of the restaurant but our son usually doesn't sleep in the stroller.
