How do the lines work? I am wondering if our toddler will be able to remain in his stroller while we work our way through the lines? Any info. or suggestions are appreciated!:earseek:

In every line I can think of you have to park your stoller before entering.

There are stroller parking areas all around WDW, you leave your stroller with the 1000s of others and enter the line on foot. If your toddler is likely to run off or need carrying, then think about a harness or sling to use in lines.

You will have to park your stroller outside of the attraction line. You will likely see many other strollers. Don't leave super-valuables on the stroller, and you may want to put something on your stroller to decorate it (ribbon, bandana, etc.) to easily i.d. it once you get off the ride.

If you don't see your stroller where you left it, don't panic. Cast members often move the strollers around to get them out of the way. Many attractions have a "stroller parking area", but if it overflows, CMs will stash strollers out of the way near the attraction.

We have never had anything stolen from our stroller, but it does happen.

I believe that if you have a Disney rental stroller and it goes missing while you are on a ride, you can get a replacement if you show your receipt. Can anyone confirm this?

Have a great trip!

When you enter the queue to the Safari ride at AK you can take your stroller most of the way and then a CM will park it for you. There is a still a line beyond that point but it's a bit of a walk to get to the actual ride so it's nice they have it set up that way. The strollers are parked in an area right between the entrance path and the exit path so you will walk right by it and retrieve your stroller as you leave. We tied a bright orange bandana around our stroller handle which helped us spot it in easier in the sea of strollers. The Fantasmic arena also has a pretty long path to get to the seating area, and the stroller parking is at the end of the path so you can drop off your stroller just as you enter the arena.

Those are the only two attractions I can think of off the top of my head where you at least can take the stroller part way before parking it. Like the pp's said, you can use a baby bjorn or snugli style carrier, a sling, or hip carrier if it makes things easier for you while you're in line. We tend to go during the off-season - the shorter lines also make things a little easier to deal with.

HTH, and have a magical trip!

One possible way around this is for one parent to stay with the toddler (and stroller) away from the line while the other parent gets in line. That way you will only have to wait in line with your little one for a shorter time once the queueing parent has reached a point where you'd need to join him.

DH and I took turns doing this when DD was younger. Depending on the length of the line and wait, we often used the time to our advantage for giving her a snack or drink as well as a diaper change or potty break - depending on the need and her stage of development.

Though we were done using it at home, we brought the baby bjorn fgor our 18mos old, just for lines. The next trip, we brought the tether.....

I am wondering how the 18 month old handled the baby bjorn. My son is 15 months, and we never really used a carrier. He is really into his independence,so I am wondering how it would work out for us.

my 14 month old wouldn't fit ni a baby bjorn - she was fine uptp 6 months, but no chance now.

We mostly carried her in short lines, but I have a hip hammock which we used occassionally in longer lines - I can't say she really liked that, but she tolerated it.

Can we use a backpack for our toddler; thinking about renting one from 'A Baby's Best Friend' abbf.com once we get to WDW. If you can use the backpack, can we take it on the attraction?

Can anyone answer?

a backpack isn't very practical - you can't sit in a ride seat while wearing a toddler on your back. If you use a hip hammock or other front sling then you can keep the child in the sling and still sit in the seat.
