Hey folks...
I just wanted to offer a few reminders and tips for those who will be bringing strollers down to Disney, and carrying them on the buses.
Local laws require that ALL strollers be folded prior to boarding the bus. This is for safety reasons, and Disney Bus Drivers enforce this rule. Please do not attempt to circumvent this rule, as it can get your driver into a lot of trouble. (Not to mention, it's just not safe.)
(Please note that stollers being used as wheelchairs or for other medical reasons do not need to be folded. However, they will need to be strapped down into the bus. If this is the case for you, please let your driver know as soon as possible)
During busy times, there might be a line to board your bus. It's helpful, and speeds up the line if you have your stroller already folded and stuff organized before you board. If you wait until you get to the door of the bus, you will hold up the line, and the bus itself.
For those of you that have a large and bulky stroller, you may ask to board through the rear doors, if the bus is the standard floor RTS bus. The stroller must be folded prior to boarding, and only the person with the stroller may board through the rear doors. Always ask before attempting to board through the back doors. Typically, after the last guests exits through the rear exit doors, they will close. (Depending on the bus, it might take a second or two before the doors start to move.)
If the bus is a Low Floor model, you may only board through the front doors. The front doors on the low-floor buses are almost twice as wide as the rear doors, and thanks to perimiter seating, the aisles are super wide as well. In addition, nothing is allowed to be placed on top of the front wheel-wells.
Lastly, please do not chastise the driver for enforcing the rules... They did not create them, they are just doing thier job. Thanks
