Strollers and American Airlines

Has anyone flown American Airlines recently??? I see they mention umbrella type strollers will be allowed. Just wondering if our "standard" non-umbrella type stroller (not a jogging stroller) will be allowed as a gate checked item.

You can gate-check your stroller. Just hope it gets to your destination - ours was lost for two days by American on our last trip to Disney (on the way down, of course, not on the way back). GRRRR!

Sorry to hear about your lost stroller .. seems like it would be difficult to loose since they are to take them straight from the jetway to the cargo hold and then back up to the jetway when you arrive. Yikes!!!

Mistakes can be made with the gate check. The stroller could be left on the ground when you are leaving or it may get sent over to the baggage carousel when you arrive.
