I would like to bring my DD umbrella stroller on the flight.
Has anyone had any luck gate checking their umbrella stroller on an Airtran flight?

Would it be considered part of my carry-on luggage?
Or would I have to have it checked and pay extra?

I was also thinking I might be able to buy an umbrella stroller at World of Disney and then just transport it one way on Airtran or offer it to someone else arriving. Does anyone know if they sell strollers at World of Disney?

We will not have a car - relying only on Disney transportation.

You can gate check the umbrella stroller for no charge and it is not considered part of your carry-on allowance. I would recommend some sort of bag or other protection for it since they are not always very gentle with the strollers. People have reported arriving to find their strollers missing wheels, covered in grease or having torn canopies. (*This is a general statement...not specific to AirTran) Not a great way to start a vacation.

I appreciate your suggestion of the bag. I will have to try to find something to put it in.

We are also traveling with Airtran June. I just called them yesterday and asked them about gate checking my stroller. They said there is no charge. :thumbsup2
