We are taking a trip with our two boys may 15th to 24th. They are ages 4 and 7. Neither has been in stroller for quite some time. I definitely want to rent one for the youngest cause I know his little legs will get tired. Should I just rent a single stroller or opt for the double so my older son ( who is small for his age) can ride when he needs to? Or should I just have them take turns?

I think it depends on how long your trip is and if you'll be at the park all day. My now 5 year old has gone on a few trips and hasn't used a stroller since he was 3. I'd get a single if I were you, your 7 year old probably won't want to use it much.

We will be in the parks, DTD or the waterparks each day. ( 10 days total) Neither takes a nap so we won't be planning to head back to the hotel until the end of the day. Decisions.......decisions!!

I would think you could get away with one, they can take turns getting in. We are going in May as well 11-18 :), with my 9& 6 yr old boys, and we are bringing our double stroller, but my older son has Aspergers and will use the stroller to help with sensory overload, plus my husband ALWAYS brings his camera back - at least 15lbs - so we will use one of the unoccupied seats to carry so we only have to carry when they are both in there, usually near the end of the day. But this is something that works for my family :) But instead of renting I would look into buying an umbrella stroller online and having it shipped to your hotel, then just leave it down there when your done....WAY, WAY cheaper that renting one for a week! Oh another option would be to buy 2 umbrella strollers and a stroller clip to connect them instant double stroller that is easy to transport :)

We just went with our 7 and 9 year olds and no stroller so I'd say just get a single. We did 6 straight days from park open to late nights and they did fine. Our 7 year old is small for her age (she is the same size as the kids that are 1-1.5 years younger than her in dance class...smaller than some of the 6 year olds and she'll be 8 in April), she was actually better with all the walking than our 9 year old. We had to take a few short breaks but really there are so many rides where you are sitting and waiting in line they can rest so it's not like you are constantly walking

My DH longs for the day to not take a stroller however! I find it too handy and will really miss it when we won't have it, really it's a great pack mule. Our DD will be 12 & 5 on our trip this June. We take our own umbrella stroller with us. We are a RD family and stay to the park closes. Even with our small kids ( all of our trips have been in Sept). Having our own stroller is helpful for those waits at night for the bus to take us back to our resort and getting back to the room. I also find it helpful getting through the airport. We check it at the gate.

I recommend a single. Those double just seem a little big if your older son isn't going to use it all the time.

That was my concern with the double. We never have had one but I thought they may be too big and bulky to steer in a crowd. Thanks! A single it is!
