Was a stroller manageable on Disney transportation? Is it better to rent so you can leave it at a stop and get a new one at the next location (or is that too time consuming)? Tips? Thanks!

we always bring our own. aside from the cost of renting they arent very comfy and it does take some time. we never have any trouble getting it on the bus and you dont have to fold it to go on the monorail so thats nice. so we prefer to bring our own.

We brought our own at the insistence of my mother. I thought she was crazy. My daughter was 4 at the time, and can handle walking on her own usually. Boy was I glad I listened to her (not that I had a choice. She bought a stroller and brought it.) It was easy to fold it up and take it on ME. We never had to wait in line to rent one. From what I understand, they often run out of them too, so you risk not getting one. I was so grateful when my daughter was falling asleep all over Disney, and I didn't have to carry her! I saw many a parent carrying one to two kids at a time, and I could never have handled that.

She is five now. Guess what I'm bringing to Disney? We are buying a jogging stroller to take this time round. It will be easier for Daddy to push around. We have pics of her sleeping at dinner tables with butter in her hair from the cornbread, sleeping while sitting on papa's shoulders with her head on his head, and laying across two laps waiting for our table at 50's Prime Time. She was always so exhausted! So yes. This was a long way of saying that it was very manageable, and that we were very grateful we brought one.

We rented a double stroller for our last trip (9/09) for DD2 & DS4 (at the time of the trip) from Orlando Strollers. It was great!! We don't have a double stroller, and we wanted DS to be able to sit in the stroller if he got tired. (He has never been one to sit in the stroller - he wants his freedom!)

The stroller was delivered to our resort before we checked in, and it was picked up after we left. We enjoyed having the stroller outside of the parks. We didn't have to wait in line to get a stroller at the parks each morning. We didn't have to worry about them running out. And it was a lot more comfortable for the kids than the hard plastic ones that you can rent from the parks. The seats recline, there was a large canopy to protect the kids from the sun, it was easy for them to climb in & out, and there were times when DD fell asleep in the stroller.

I will say a double is a little bigger than our single travel stroller at home, but not a whole lote. We didn't have any problems taking it on the busses, or wheeling it around the parks, stores, etc.

We are going back this fall, and we are planning on renting another stroller from Orlando Strollers.

Good luck!

I just checked out Orlando Strollers, and they have the kind of stroller we would be buying. Thanx for the name of the company. I may do that instead of buying. I'll talk to the hubby.

I am renting from Orlando Strollers for our April trip for my grandchildren..

Leaving in 5 days. Can't wait to have our magic stroller waiting on us at the hotel. It is a reasonable price. Less than $100 for a double for 6 days (we got the insurance).

I love my jogging stroller. So easy to push all day at Disney and comfy for DD. It has even been known to double as a seat for mommy at the end of a long day while watching the fireworks or a parade.

We always take our own. We have done both a double stroller and a single stroller. We prefer taking it because when the kids fall asleep on the buses we can just put them back in the stroller and push them to the room rather then carrying them. Also it gives them a place to sit while waiting for transportation.

We've done both, and bringing your own is not only cost effective but way more useful. We found that at the end of the day, to have our DD4 in a stroller when she is tired and doesn't have to walk. We've had to wait for long amounts of time waiting for our bus back to the hotel, and having a stroller to let her sit in and sleep was worth every hassle we may have encountered. My advice, TAKE YOUR OWN STROLLER.

We really liked renting until the end of the day when someone was carrying the huge sleeping child and the other one was carrying all of the stuff from the bus to the room. I will bring a stroller until my kids refuse to sit in one any longer. I am in love with my MacLaren that I bought especially for Disney. Folds nicely on the tram, not too big, reclines for naps. :lovestruc it!
Btw, my dd is almost three and potty trained so we don't need to bring a lot of stuff. The bigger one was better when she was little and needed a lot of stuff. But we would just walk to the car instead of using the trams.

We love Magic Strollers. Reasonably priced and so convenient. I used to bring our own stroller until one was destroyed by the airline. From that point on we rent if flying and bring our own if we drive.

Hi Snappy in OK! I'm so glad I read your post. We've been bringing our own strollers to WDW, but have reserved our stroller for our Nov. 2011 visit from Orlando Stroller Rentals. Good to know you had such a great experience with their delivery & quality of the stroller.

I found a really great jogging stroller for half what it would have cost me to rent for 11 days, so I am stoked! Yay! I always feel so bad for parents that have to carry their kids after the parks. I considered renting for about 10 minutes, and then decided to look around online at prices for purchasing another one. I just couldn't justify the cost of renting and not bringing something home with us! Glad I found such a great deal!

We brought our big Chicco last year, loved having the basket on bottom!

I have heard great things about the rental places! We are bringing an umbrella stroller this year but had no problems with the big stroller last year!

Haha! We're doing the exact opposite! We took an umbrella stroller in October, and hated the way it fell over all the time b/c of the bags on the back (I refuse to carry a bag). My husband ends up pushing it most of the time, and it's hard on his back to reach down to the umbrella stroller. I decided to look for one that was a little taller, and he requested a basket underneath.

We rented a double Citimini (whatever they were called) from Orlando Stroller in Sept and they were flawless. It was so easy, and our 4 year old won't use a stroller at home, so we wern't going to buy one. They were easy enough to get on and off the bus. (Far better than the HUGE singles I've seen other people bring from home that still take up a bunch of room.) At 10:00 at night at MNSSHP we came out of Mickey's house to find our stroller missing (despite the large blaze orange sign with our last name on it.) but an identical rental sitting right next to where we left ours. I took a photo of the name tag of the stroller left, called the stroller place and gave them the name on the sign (again 10pm, actual person. Not an answering machine. Waiting till morning would have been a disaster!) They texted the other family, and within an hour we had our original stroller back. They were great. Word of advice- don't take for granted that just because your family's last name is on the big orange sign- that someone else will bother to "check" their stroller/name before wandering off, because really, there are only hundreds of identical strollers floating around the park.:confused3:rotfl:

Mark it well!!

LOL, oh no!! I haven't even taken the stroller out of the box yet, maybe we should test it out!
