We have four kids, but the two I am concerned about are 1 and 3. The 3 yr old still takes a daily nap, and its a given my 1 yr old needs a stroller....Last year we took our duo Maclaren...This year I know our 3 yr old will want to walk more...However, she does get tired, and will want to nap at some point. Not to mention she daydreams and can often times get left behind without being super vigilant.

Would you take the duo again, or take our Britax single, and an umbrella stroller to let her rest if need be on certain days?

I would totally take the double! Especially when I see how easy and wonderful the Maclaren doubles are to use and transport (I do not personally own one). At 3 I would never expect a young one to handle the parks without a ride in a stroller and a nap! Have fun!

Definately take the double. Next trip we'll be taking a double for my DD almost 3 and my niece 4 1/2. If your older child is walking, with 4 kids, surely you'll find something to put in that empty seat!

No question about it, I would definitely take the double. I agree with the previous poster, even if the 3 yr old wants to walk some, with 4 kids you will find something to put in that seat!

This scenario is exactly why I just got a Phil & Ted's (okay, this scenario *and* the fact that I lucked into the most amazing deal ever!)!

My older dd will want to walk, almost exclusively, but there will be times she needs to ride just because I don't think she'll be able to take all that walking (especially the 'boring' stuff, like between parks/transport/etc). My little one will need to ride almost all the time. We figure she'll ride in the upper seat most of the time and we'll use the lower seat for storage of our backpack diaper bag. When dd#1 wants/needs to ride, we'll move dd#2 to the lower seat and just wear the backpack!

I like that it gives them both riding options, but only takes up the footprint of a single stroller (plus it's a dream to steer/push, and comfy for all!). HTH!

OK, so whats Phil and Teds as if I need another stroller?

Oh, and to go ahead and answer everyone's first question (the first we always get anyway!): no, it doesn't hinder our stride at all - and my dh is 6'5" tall.

The second question: no, dd#2 doesn't mind riding "down there" in fact she seems quite tickled with it.

I'd look into them before (when dd#2 first came along), but just couldn't justify the $ since dd#1 really didn't ride much at all anymore. But, as I said, we got an *incredible* deal and with the impending Disney trip . . . just couldn't pass it up. Glad we didn't, as we're *loving* it!
