I am in the process of trying to find a good stroller for my 3 yr old DS. He weighs 30 lbs right now but still needs a stroller. I like the quest but he will weight out soon.

What strollers have a high weight limit but still fold up small?

Thanks and sorry for another stroller help question.

The Quest goes to 55#s - we just bought one for our DD2 - I think you'll be fine!

Wow, 55#'s! I didn't know, I was looking at the Techno XT and it was only 35# I think. Thanks! :cool1:

I have a Quest and my son uses it from time to time (hes 4.5 and around 40 lbs). It does go up to 55 lbs so your son will probably not need it before he hits 55 lbs! You might be able to use it beyond 55lbs too (not much though).

Great information. I ended up calling Maclaren and they told me the only difference between the XT and classic is fabric design. So now it is between the Techno and the Quest. I like the bigger wheels on the Techno.

Does anyone know the difference in model years. I see a 2005 for about the same price as a new quest and think if it is only fabric I will buy it.

Thanks again, April

We just received our 2006 Maclaren Techno Classic from babydealz com. We were trying to decide between the Techno and the Quest; we decided on the Techno because it reclines fully. It is a very nice stroller and for $199 shipped we couldn’t pass it up.

It depends on how much you're going to be using your stroller...

We have a cheap umbrella stroller (Kolcraft $20 at Babies R Us), that my 3 1/2 year old son has been riding in for well over a year...
He's been above the "weight limit" of 35 lbs on this stroller for about 6 months... we use it on a weekly basis, and it shows no signs of damage or disrepair...

Strollers aren't like carseats where there are major safety concerns...
Most products are tested to TWICE their "limits" (I'm a consumer product engineer... this is "standard")... so I wouldn't stress on the numbers too much!

HTH!
