Stroller Wheels: Bicycle Wheels or Regular Wheels?

First time going with small kids (1 year, 3 years) and am looking for a side by side stoller that isn't too heavy and has storage underneath. I like the jogging strollers but have read reviews about the tires going flat. Last thing i want is to be stranded with a flat on a stroller at Disney lol

Which wheels do you prefer and why?

I love my bob, is comfortable to push and takes curbs well. When I go with it I take a small bike pump (one designed to attach to a bike to refill tires while you are out riding) and I typically inflate the tires in the morning and don’t have problems throughout the day. It works well for larger kids (4 or 5 year olds) who need space. The storage is easy to get to and holds a lot!

Now the negatives for the BOB, it’s large, does not collapse well for use on trams, buses, etc. - to the point that I’ll walk back to my car instead of taking the tram at the magic Kingdom.

I also use and love my city mini, if I didn’t think my 6 year old may want to use it I wouldn’t hesitate to use this one next time as my 19 month will be the primary passenger. It folds better and you don’t have to worry about the tires. Negatives include it’s a little less comfortable for larger kids, the underbasket is harder to utilize and does not hold as much, it does not take curbs anywhere near as well as the BOB...

All that said for kids in the age range you have unless they are on the big side I’d lean towards a city mini...

You won't be stranded with a flat no matter what. Even if it looses air, you can still push it. Bigger wheels are much easier to push...plus the little wheels are a pain on Main St. in MK, they get stuck in the trolley tracks.

I'm a cheap person, I can't fathom paying more than $100 for any stroller. We used basic ones (not the cheapest umbrella one, but nothing fancy). But big wheels are better.

When we went to Disney w/ two little ones we rented a side by side stroller from a local company. Its been years but normally the rental co's have hardcore strollers. We really liked that stroller and I thought the rate was quite reasonable. They met us and dropped it off at our hotel and picked it up as well.

Me too lol. I look at these $300+ strollers and go whattttt? lol. Just never was for me. I have found one I like called the Baby Trend Expedition Double Jogger Stroller. It's about $168 new but we aren't going until October so I can probably find a used one before then. Was just worried about flats lol Good to know its not really an issue.

We have been with a Maclaren and a Britax B-Ready. Both worked just fine, but the B-Ready was so much better for comfortable, space and ease of pushing.

Yes, you can do a used one. If you really want to save money, buy a used one and then sell it when you're done. We stay offsite, so it's a bit easier for us. But last time we used a stroller we bought a double jogger stroller off Craigslist for $50. Used it for 2 weeks then sold it, at WDW, to another vacationing family for $40. Net cost = $10
