Stroller Swap!!!!

Hi all!!!

I was talking to a new friend from here (Rileygirl) and she is leaving WDW the day after we arrive. She is bringing a stroller for her child to use while there (brand new!) and then on her final night (my first night) we are meeting at the Poly to exchange the stroller and watch the electrical water parade together. Rileygirl thought it would be cool to keep passing the stroller on and I agree!!! So...who is getting there the 26th or 27th of March? Do you need a stoller? Would you keep passing on the wheels for more DISers to enjoy???? We could start a strollerchain!!! How funny would that be???

I won't be there until April 5th so that lets us out but I thought I'd give this a bump in case anybody missed it that might be interested.

I think it's a great idea, hoping that it can work out for somebody!!

Also, if no one is going exactly then, you might be able to leave it in a left luggage area at the hotel for someone to pick up a few days later.

Thanks for reminding me! I need to put that on my shopping list. We arrive on the 5th and our first park day is the 7th (Monday) and our last park day is the 10th (Friday). A quicker trip than I would like to have taken but at least we still get to go!! I'll be looking for lime green ribbons!!

I just noticed our counters are different and yet we're both arriving the same day -- Saturday, April 5th. I preference your counter because that makes the trip 1 day sooner! I just remembered too that we leave on Friday at 9 am
That's the second time I've made that mistake -- watch me miss the plane!

if you are interested in the stroller, I bet mom could have it forwarded to your hotel and wait for you, there is only a week in the difference, I am sure it would work if you were staying at a disney hotel. Just to let everybody know, its a nice, lightweight collapsable (sp?) stroller, it has a canopy top and a little basket in the bottom. It has a removable tray, so it can accomedate the big and little, (but not infant, definetly toddler type)
I hope we can start a happy chain with this stroller.

I really do think this is a good idea and I wish it would work out but ... there's always a but isn't there? ... my flight doesn't arrive until 9pm and I'm not staying onsite so I'm not sure how that would work out. I have a PS for breakfast on Sunday morning at the Kona Cafe but since I'm not a "guest" I'm not sure if the hotel would be okay with that.

It's a really generous thing to do ...

We are arriving mar 29/30-april 3 and staying at allstar movies.
dd is 2 and about 30 lbs. I would LOVE to have the extra trunk space if your stroller is still available. Id be willing to pass it to whomever needed it after me.

I believe the stroller is still available, let me check with mom2of2 to make absolutely certain...
Your mission if you choose to accept it is to keep this thread alive and find someone who wants it on april third or so....and pass it on. And you must give the next usee the same instructions....Its a great stroller, the only thing wrong with it is its not lime green!
What will happen is on the 28th mom2of2 will give it to the hotel staff of her resort to be delivered to your resort (luggage transfer) and it will be at your hotel on the 29th by 4pm guarenteed..so they say...
You will need to pm mom2of2 and give her your name and hotel info so she can send it to you from her hotel...

What a wonderful and thoughtful idea!!!

I hope the stroller can continue to be passed on for a long, long time.

Maybe a record can be kept of who is using it, ages, where you're from, etc...so that the stroller can have its own history. Wouldn't that be interesting for the next person using it?

I think this is a wonderful idea. We'll be there April 6-16, and although we don't need a stroller (leaving the grands home..and they have all out-grown strollers, thank God), we'd be happy to babysit and deliver it during our time frame, if there is a gap in "sharing" times. We'll have a car.

Disney funseeker, I love your idea about keeping a record of the stroller. I have just become a scrapbook junkie and I could enclose supplies and a scrapbook...do you think people would be interested in keeping it up?
Ok, I am t-minus 24hrs til liftoff, and I will be shortly entering the no internet zone so just to tie up a few ends here before I go...
OhanaMaMa pm mom20f2 to set up the swap, whatever works best for you here are a few ideas
1.at the enterance to a park
2. pick up at her hotel
3. have her "luggage transfer it from her hotel to yours" <---- this one would work the easiest probably but there is one potential problem. I understand when you do a luggage transfer you get a tag from bell services and only the person who sent the luggage can pick it up...I think however, since this is a stroller and the sendee can specify who it is going to, and if you inform everybody involved at both hotels, I think this will not be a problem
4. Meet for a drink and do the swap then, like me and mom are going to!
hope this all works out...do you think we should post this on the family board? I know that there is a way to move a thread, but I dont know how, and maybe two threads might end up getting confusing.

a pm to one of the moderators should get the thread moved--And it would only be on the Families board, so no confusion.

This stroller chain is such a great idea -- And everyone writing something, about themselves, or their trip, etc. would be priceless--I hope this keeps going till at least Nov., because we've been trying to figure out how to get 2 strollers there -- If anyone's keeping track, put me down for Nov.23 - 28 !!

If you need help in coordinating, pls. let me know - I'd be glad to help -- Rileygirl, you came up with one great idea! And special thanks for donating the stroller....

Unfortunately Rileygirl leaves on the 21st. We will just be getting there the 20th and that's when we are going to meet. It would be great if we could get this off the ground. I really wanted to give the DISers a first shot at the swap. Orginally we thought about just doing a hand off to whoever I saw needing a stroller. This way would be so much more FUN!
