Would anyone be interested in doing a stroller share? We're hemming and hawing about whether DS4 should use a stroller on our trip. We could rent one from city strollers, but it's cheaper to just buy one from Amazon or Walmart and then ditch it.

I know were're not supposed to exchange money on the dis, so if anyone did want to do a stroller share, the first person who gets the stroller would have to pay for it. We'll be there Aug 21-28th staying at Hojo from Aug 21-24th then DLH from 24th to 28th. We won't need it for the full trip, but more likely for the last few days.

Anyone interested?

If you're flying into the area, did you check with the airline? Sometimes they'll let you gate check a stroller or car seat without a huge fee (at least they used to).

We don't use a stroller at home any more, so I sold ours months ago.

We used to go to the target down the street and get an umbrella stroller for like $15 bucks. Then give it away or just toss it. Tossing it felt wasteful, but that is a cheap option. When our son didn't use it, it doubled as a bag carrier.

Ah.....yes. The poor ditched stroller. I have seen quite a few of those poor little guys abandoned along the highways and byways of our beautiful state coast. Have seen many as well stashed in the corners of various hotels too. In reception areas, sidewalks, even derelict store fronts. Sometimes there will be a free sign on some of them. Why one time, no, actually that was twice so far I have seen interesting people take them, and put their baby doll or pound pup in them and push them down the sidewalk or road. Usually while carrying on a conversation with I guess themselves, unless of course they're talking to their baby doll or pooch at the time.
:faint:

Yeah, that's the route I think we'll take. I don't want to just ditch it, though, which is why I wanted to see if anyone else was planning to do the same thing. Wouldn't that be neat to pass on a stroller, from one family to another to another. Imagine all the fun at Disneyland that stroller would see!

The main reason we want a stroller is so that DS can sleep in it in the afternoon if he really needs to, and the really cheap umbrella ones don't recline, and he'll be too heavy for them anyways. I found a $15 jogging stroller on Craigslist in OC, but it'll probably be gone by the time we'll need it. Or, we might try to go without on the first few days of the trip and then pick one up or rent one half way through if we need it.

We will be there Sept28-Oct3 and need one for DS4. If you could find a really good hiding place for 1 month we would totally use it. LOL. Kidding of course, but it sounds like a great idea!

Since you are staying at DLH check with guest services, they might take it when you leave. I had one at wdw that was a throw away unbrella type. I asked the guys if there was a place I could trash it and they said they would take it. They said that if someone asked at the front desk about a lost or broken one they would offer one of the left behind ones. Maybe dl will do that too? Anyway worth a shot if you can't find anyone who wants to take it off your hands.

Ha! Maybe I'll dig a hole, put an X over it, and write you a treasure map! :rotfl2:

But, seriously, if we could find two or three more people, or maybe even some locals, we could keep passing on a stroller from one family to another. What hotel are you staying at? You could see if they'll hold it for you if I drop it off.

We are staying at the HOJO, checking in September 28th.

I tried to organize something like this a few years ago but didn't get enough interest. We'll be going nov 16-22 and if it got that far if be interested.
