Is there a place to get a stroller rental for an older child? We were thinking of how other amusement parks some that are bigger. My 8 yr old cant walk all day in the park and the last time we went we let her ride with us on the scooter. But from what I read even if we bring our own they still discourage you from doing this. My eldest daughter has agreed to pushing her if we get her one. She only weighs 55lbs.

You can rent the ones in the park, or there are companies that rent strollers. I would also get a stroller as wheelchair tag from Guest Services. This allows your Daughter to stay in the wheelchair threw the rides and attractions. This will give her, her own personal space in lines, and might help with her meltdowns too.

where do i find companies that rent them?

You can find companies in post 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread. There is a link to that thread in my signature.

This was posted in the disABILITIES Community Board - I will move it for you to the disABILITIES Board, which is for park questions.

grumpy&princess,
I suggest you look for something similar to the Maclaren Major Elite. It is an umbrella-style stroller designed for bigger kids (up to 140 lbs though that might be pushing it). Many of the "special needs" strollers are large and cumbersome - the Maclaren Major folds and carries onto buses easily just like a traditional umbrella stroller. There is another brand that is also considered "umbrella" style but I forget the name. You might have better luck finding one of these through a medical rental site rather than the traditional baby-stroller rental sites. I know I found a couple in SueM's list on the sticky, so start there.
Enjoy your vacation!

Many of the offsite rental companies have strollers that have higher weight limits. We will be getting one for my DS who will be 6 when we go - he has a genetic syndrome that causes low muscle tone. He can't hang for 10+ miles of walking every day. :-)
