what's the age of the youngest child that you've put in a rented disney stroller?

i guess we'll consider renting once we feel that we can get through the airports w/out a stroller.

are the strollers comfortable for naps? is there a single strap that goes around the waist?

we're planning a fall trip & our 2 DDs will be 2 & 4. i think my 4 y.o. is ready but i'm guessing that the 2 y.o. won't be. has anyone tried a 2 y.o. in the rented stroller? thanks.

I wouldn't put a 2yo in a rental. They are very uncomfortable, especially MK, and don't recline for napping. Plus, there isn't a lot of room for a diaper bag if you still need one. You will also probably want one in DTD and at the resorts. If you absolutely, positively don't want to bring one, try renting at a baby's best friend. You will probably also need a stroller for your 4yo, even if out of one at home.

We just got back and rented. DS9, DD7, DS4, & DD2. Our double stroller broke at the airport and we were stuck. We rented 6 days of a single stroller. Many days I asked to upgrade to a double stroller (when it was raining) when I picked it up. Only once did I have to pay the $8 difference. The CM's let me upgrade for free most days. :)

That said, all 4 kids took turns in the strollers. We never buckled anyone and no one napped. DD2 fell asleep on the bus for cat naps in between parks. We never went back to the room. (Our plan was to go back every day for her but we didn't need to.) She was carried about 1/2 the time while the others used the stroller.

While it does depend on the child, I would say 3 years old would be a safe average. My just turned 3 year old did great in one last year. Of course, he's the type of kid that wouldn't care if I dragged him around in a cardboard box all day, lol! I can't remember what kind of safety straps the strollers have, but I would have been worried that he would have tried to escape at 2. I would think a 2 year old would need more comfort and restraints.

My dd was absolutely fine in a WDW stroller when she was nearly 2.5. Since we didn't take her when she was younger, I cannot base any other comments on personal experience. I do think she would have been fine from about a year on. She had no trouble falling asleep in the stroller. I won't say she looked overly comfortable, but she didn't complain and she doesn't normally sleep in a comfortable looking position in her Maclaren stroller either. While we don't normally rent Disney strollers (I'm too cheap!!), they are so much easier to push in the parks than any stroller I've ever used at home.
