Stroller- Rental or bring our own

Visiting Disney in September with 3 yr old grand daughter. For you experienced folks would you recommend renting a stroller from Disney or bringing our own light weight (umbrella type-do they still call them that) stroller with us. We are on a strict budget and would rather not spend the $$ to rent one if it's not worth it. Other issue is dealing with my germ-o-phobe daughters stress about having her kid sitting in a stroller that many others have used. How often are the rentals cleaned

I am planning a trip with my niece and her three children, who at the time will be 5, 2, and 11 mo. I have purchased two used umbrella strollers at yard sales for $5 each prior to the trip so we can scrub them up, sterilize them, etc. At $5 I didn't figure we could go wrong and even the 5 year old will have something to sit in because I know she will get tired and want to be carried.

I would bring your own. At 3, your dgd will likely still want to be in the stroller on the way to the buses and potentially even around the resort. If you rent one from disney, you have to leave them at the parks. They are expensive to rent, and don't look comfy to me. I would bring an inexpensive lightweight stroller that you can use for the entire trip.

I recommend bringing your own from home. That way you'll have it when you leave the park as well. Not to mention the amount of $$ you'll save by not using a rental. Those things are $$$!

Hi. I am also debating this issue but I have twin 22 mth olds so umbrella ones don't work for us. My friend debated this with her 2 1/2 yr old. She didn't want to take her own stroller but didn't know about renting, because she might need a stroller outside Disney. She went to Walmart in Orlando and bought a cheap, lightweight stroller. She figured that it was cheaper than renting and wouldn't put wear and tear on her stroller. She said that it worked out well. Just a thought.
