stroller rental at MK?

Has anyone rented a double stroller at Magic Kingdom? How much does it cost and is it a total pain to wait and rent? I am just trying to figure out how to cram the double stroller in our truck with all our luggage too!!

Double strollers are $15.00 (with a $1.00 refund upon return)... With any stroller rental it can sometimes be a wait as you wait in line to rent it (where you actually pay and get the name card) and then you get in another line to pick it up. It all depends on the time of day whether it will be a lengthy process.

For MK another trick is this (if the line is long)... Rent the stroller, once you get the name card and your recepit, go to the train, take the train to your first destination and get a stroller from them. The train does not allow park strollers on it, so they do an exchange, you leave yours with them and pick up another one at the station you are getting of at. With the Main Street station they are not so concerned about you leaving one as the stroller rental is right below them. As long as you have the name card and receipt they will let you pick one up at the next station

They now have multi-day passes that are cheaper the more days that you buy. The theory is that you should be by passing the first line once you purchase the multi day pass but that hasn't worked in reality.

Most parks only have one line that you can get into, so there isn't much time saved getting the multi-day pass.

I don't know if you are driving or flying.... If flying, having the stroller in the airport is a godsend. I just gate check it as we board the plane, as we get off the stroller is set up and waiting for us we deplane.

Also, renting is nice, but after a long day at the parks, the kids still want the stroller all the way to the buses. And when you get off the bus and have to walk to your room, well, the stroller is quite useful with very tired children!!

if there is anyway you can bring yours, you might want to.

Sorry, I went back and re-read your post, and you are driving in your truck. You still may want that stroller for before and after. Even if you are driving to the parks, you may want the stroller for walking to your truck.

These are really helpful comments. I appriciate it. It's funny - I totally don't have a truck, I misspelled trunk. We actually have a little honda wagon - Ha! It still won't be easy fitting it but I am trying to find a way, I think it'll be easier if we do

one time i did not bring my stroller, i ended up renting one at the parks everyday. i never had a problem renting them. if you don't return it you lose your $1.00. sometimes the line to return it just ain't worth it! also if you are going to several parks(we usually go 8-10x's) you're better off buying a stroller from wal-mart and just leave it there if you don't want to bring it back.

Yes, I have rented one, and no they aren't hard to maneuver. The cost is $15 which includes the one dollar deposit per day, and when you return it with your pink slip you will receive one Disney Dollar back. Hold on to the pink ticket they give you, because if you leave one park and go to another, you can get a stroller there without paying again, in the same day. They are also now doing length of stay stroller rental. I think it saves you about one dollar a day in rental payment.

If you go to DTD, their stroller and w/c policy is quite different. They do not have double strollers, as they don't fit through the stores easily. Also, the rental is $7 per day for each single, with a $20 refundable deposit on each stroller or w/c rented, as it is an ungated property. They will honor the length of stay coupons, however, you will still have to pay the refundable deposit.

1. Just buy a cheap umbrella stroller down there (I don't know who you have to push)
2. Really couldn't decide last trip in Sept about my double stroller and I am so glad I took it-I'm taking in again.
3. Try the stroller swap here at the disboards. Just search for threads.

We were just there in December (from 11.29 - 12.13) and from what I remember, every park had a separate line where I could just show my pre-paid coupons and they would stamp it and give me my strollers (we rented a single and a double almost every day). It was very quick and easy!

There were times when the kids were sleepy after a long day that it would have been helpful to have our own stroller, but I definitely prefer renting to bringing our own. It does get to be a hassle to lug a stroller (double - especially) on and off the buses, etc.

The pre-paid coupons were definitely a plus -- we didn't have to collect our $1.00 each day. They let us turn in all our stamped stubs at the end of the trip to get the money back. (Seems like a loop hole, thouhg, because the 1.00 is meant to be an incentive to return the stroller to the proper place, and turning them all in at once, there's no way to see if we did return them each day or if we left them some place in the park).

Anyhow, renting isn't bad, especially is you buy the pre-paid coupons. Hope that helps!
