My ds will be turning 4 a month after our trip to WDW. We are expecting to use a stroller while there. At home we have a peg perago ARIA which I never liked and is particularly difficult to push and steer with a larger child in it. My ds is about 40" and 40lbs. I don't need to use one at the airport and don't feel that I will need it to go to and from the parks.

So my question is if you were me WWYD? Would you just use the stroller in the park or rent from a place? I also have a 6 yo dd who we don't need a stroller for though I do like to have her hold on when we are in a crowded place.

Thanks in advance.

Alexis

My DD is the same size, just turned 5. We rented a City Mini from Magic Strollers and really liked the service, price, and stroller.
I would totally recommend them over renting a stroller each day from WDW. Costs a lot more to rent in the parks and you can't take them with you.

DS is 4, 45 lbs, 45 inches and a real trooper when it comes to walking. We are renting in the parks. The strollers are sooo easy to push a bigger child in and we will not have to deal with them on the bus. I have a strong 19 year old that will carry him to the bus if he happens to pass out before we get back to the bus or from the bus to the resort. Its sota costly but we just work it in the budget.

I have a 45 lb. 5 year old, and we used my Schwinn Jogging Stroller for him, and it worked like a dream. Seriously easy to push for his weight. Plus, the design of that stroller works for taller kids, and he is super tall at 48 inches. I use a regular Graco Stroller for my 2 yr. old DD, and love that for our basket space.

If you don't want to rent, I always check craigslist and local children's consignment sales and get a good stroller at a bargain then. And then you can resell it or hang onto it for your next Disney trip!

Good suggestions above. We have a two and four year old, so our four year old will be riding in the double stroller, but if I just had a four year old I'd bring a single and I'd be tempted to rent in the park so I didn't have to cart it back and forth, wouldn't need it at the resort, etc., but in the end it would come down to cost for me. If you're staying for a long time then it's probably better to rent from someone other than Disney, cost-wise.

Either

- Rent in park or from an outside rental agency (depending on price)
or
- Find a good deal on a stroller on craigslist that works for you and you don't mind if it gets beat up a bit on the airplane (therefore don't have to invest in a cover for it, etc.)

Since we have a 2 year old who will still use a stroller more often, I got a City Micro off of Craigslist for $60 that we can use when we need and it's great for older kids.

Don't rent from disney their strollers are very uncomforatble! rent from one of the local rental companies, you will be happy you did. we rented a phil and Teds on our last trip from www.orlandostrollerstogo.com and loved it:)

We have a Frist Years Ignite for DS4. He's 42.5 inches tall right now and he fits fine in it.

I think it's a decent stroller, although I haven't used it in WDW yet. It reclines, has a storage basket, a canopy, and a cup holder. But maybe I'm not the right person to ask since I LOVED our Peg Aria. I thought it was the perfect WDW stroller. Sadly, DS got sick in it on our last trip and we had to throw it away.

When we went with our son for the first time, he was 2.5, and we used a Maclaren Triumph and loved it. This time, he'll be 4.5 I found a Maclaren Techno on Craigslist, and had my parents pick it up (it was in Florida). We used it when we were visiting them on vacation, and thought it worked well. We're meeting them at Disney again, so they'll bring it with them for us to use again. When we're done with it, we'll just list it on craigslist again :)

When we took my Nce 4yo at the time, we just bought a cheap umbrella stroller since she didn't need to nap in it, it was just a way of getting around easier in parks and it was a God Send! It was extra light, easy to fold and carried her around when she didn't want to walk and we left it at the resort with a family coming checking in with several small children and they were very grateful and we had one less thing to carry home! It worked like a charm for us. Just sayin'.:thumbsup2

I love my Perego P3. My neighbour got an Aria at a garage sale and used it for her 5 yr old. She pushed mine and said it worked better. Both kid's were about the same height and my niece would have been heavier than her son.

I purchased mine from www.albeebaby.com.

Albeebaby has the Britax Blink on for $70. It's very similar to the Maclaren strollers-umbrella fold, 55lb weight limit, carrying strap, etc. The Blink does recline, only the higher end models of the Maclaren recline.
