we need to bring a double stroller. would we be better off bringing a front to back style (graco duoglider)

OR

chariot double (think bike trailer, side by side seating, wider and lower to the ground.. .but shaded... )

also, the chariot is worth a lot of $$ so can we lock it if we bring it? or better to bring our graco that isn't worth much?

Bring the Graco, it will be much easier.

Ditto!

We brought the Sitn Stand from BabyTrend, and that worked great for us. It is more chariot-style, too, with the second seat just being a little bench with a platform to stand on. I think this style will be easier for you. Plus, I wouldn't bring a super-expensive stroller to DL. We have never had a problem, but I've heard the occasional story of a stolen stroller.

We had a duoglider (front/back seats) and used it our first trip. I found it very hard to steer and was always afraid I was going to run into sombody (especially the people that like to jump right in front of you, as they can't wait ONE MORE SECOND) because you can't see in front of it that well.

Last trip we used a duorider (side by side). We had no problems with it. We never even attemp to manuever a single stroller in the stores or anything, so we just left it outside and it was mostly used to get from attraction to attraction. I liked the easy access to the huge basket (we keep a cooler in there) and both the kids had a good view.

We're thinking of bringing two singles this time (yeah, I have a bit of a stroller fetish).

I go back and forth between our Chicco side by side and our Graco Duoglider. Both have pros and cons. I like the front/back for going through gates/walkways/shops on Main Street. I like the side by side for ease of getting in/out and that both kids can fully recline if they fall asleep at the same time.

I would say the Graco ends up being more convenient all around, I only take the side by side because mine both end up napping around the same time and we nap in the stroller!!

Also I don't really care about bringing the Chicco even though it cost more than double my Graco. You will see Peg Perego, Aprica, Bugaboo, Icoo, all kinds of expensive strollers there and most likely will not have a problem if you do bring the Chariot.

We only own a side-by-side, so nothing to compare it to. I like it because it's super easy for the kids to get in and out of by themselves. Also, the air tires on it make it a breeze to steer. I can't imagine pushing around a double which had rubber coated plastic tires after this. Fits through a standard doorway. Reclines. Has a canopy. Etc, etc. I don't see how there's any downside to using it vs. a front-to-back.

Ours is a Mountain Buggy Urban Double. Way high end. Looks like death warmed over at this point with all the use it's had, but eh, it's function that matters. ;) We use a cable bike lock to attach the tire to the frame when we go on rides. This allows the CMs to move it if necessary, but no one's going to get very far if they try to steal it.

If you can, I would maybe suggest you try to take two single strollers instead of the double. It will be much easier to get around and after a long day of walking. The weight from a double stroller will wear on you.

If you decide to stick to taking a double, I would go with the Duoglider FTB. The seats recline, the kids have their own space and it is narrower which will be MUCH easier getting around the park with the crowds and tight corners and such. Although the Chariots are VERY nice strollers and may be more comfy for you to push all day. We have the Zooper Tango SBS and a double jogger SBS. Our jogger is significantly lighter but it doesn't offer the storage or reclining like the stroller. It also doesn't turn like my stroller and it is harder for the kids to get in and out of on their own.

In March my DS's will be 3 1/2 and 1 1/2, and we are taking two single strollers. My Peg Perego single has a toddler running board on the back which comes in VERY handy. So in the mornings if we decide to only take one stroller he can stand on there if he gets to tired or ran over by people when walking. In the afternoons after naps we will be bringing both strollers.

There isn't anywhere you can lock up the strollers. Most people aren't familiar with the Chariot (meaning its a really nice, if not the best jogger!) but that doesn't mean it won't get messed with. I have NEVER had a problem with any stoller we have taken, knock on wood.

Do you think your Duoglider will offer you everything you need during your visit at DL? If so I would say go with that one.

Me too, I think we own 5! Don't get me started on diaper bags! :lmao: Just like strollers each one has a different use!

The downside to two singles is that if you are left to watch kids while the other adult(s) go on a ride, you can't easily maneuver them both yourself. So you end up sitting there trying to entertain two kids who you can't take for a walk to keep happy.

If that's not a situation you'll ever find yourself in, then two singles might just be the way to go.

yeah, diaper bag fetish, too. I keep seeing them and saying, "THIS is THE ONE! This will fulfill all my diaper bag needs!". Until I see the next one. The last one I got was a Fleurville tote (my first ever blingy diaper bag, lol) and I love it. I haven't bought a diaper bag since and it's a been a whole five months. Yea, me!

You know, I hadn't thought of that. I'm wondering if I'll even be able to keep them IN their strollers if we have to wait around! I guess I can let my 3 year out of his and chase him around with the two year old in the stroller.
