My husband and I are taking our boys (2 & 5) to Disney next month. The oldest has mild CP and difficultly controlling his body temp/easily exhausted. We're driving so we have to take our strollers anyway (a Valco for the bigger boy, and a basic umbrella fold for the baby). However, I was worried about storing the strollers while we're on rides and such. Also, if one decides to walk - we still have to push around two strollers.

The disney stroller rental was pretty expensive, IMO - but I'm wondering if it's worth it. Can you store things in it (is there a basket, etc)? My older boy has some things that we have to tote around with, and I want to make sure that wouldn't be a problem. We rented a stroller at the STL Zoo once, and we couldn't really store anything (a bit disappointing). I have a picture of the Zoo stroller, but I guess I can't post a link to it yet - so I'm wondering if someone wouldn't mind sharing a picture of the Disney Double stroller.

Thanks.
Katra

Which valco are you bringing for your older ds. I don't have photos of the disney stroller personally but I will post a link. They have no storage and are the same hard plastic strollers at my local zoo. Do you think you will need the stroller outside of the park for him. My dd has a form of CP she doesn't walk and requires use of a stroller for mobility I currently have a baby jogger city mini that I use she is 40 pounds 40 inches. You can check out www.orlandostrollerrentals.com and they rent this stroller both the single and the double.

If you're at all concerned about one wanting to walk, a double stroller would probably be best. And with your son's condition, I think he'd definitely be more comfortable in a nicer stroller than the WDW rentals. I totally agree w/ the orlandostrollerrentals suggestion! The WDW strollers are certainly convenient, but not comfortable and way too expensive with the price increase IMO.

There is stroller parking at the entrance/exit of every ride. We use this everytime and have no problems leaving diaper bags, etc in them (no vaulables though).

The disney stroller rental IS expensive. Checkout the stroller swap in my siggie. It is $10 for the week! OUrs is a double, has a basket and cup holders for parents and kids.

First - thank you everyone for the links and suggestions. I'm going to look at the now.

We have the newer version of the Valco runabout - Tri-mode. I have the toddler seat and hood add-on, but Kyle is too big for that now, and it wouldn't give enough leg room, if I had Ian in the front, and Kyle in the back - so we have to go with two, in that case. Kyle weighs a solid 50-55lbs (Ian is 25lbs), so it's not going to be easy finding a stroller he can sit in. I went today and looked at some Macs, and they all topped out at 55lbs, so not worth the investment.

The techno XLR has a 65 pound weight limit on it. My eight yr old rides in the bjcm that we have and she is 52 pounds and we have no trouble w/ it. you may like the single for your 2yr old and use the valco for your 5yr old. Will you be using disney transportation.

I have a daughter with special needs and we were able to get a pass at Guest Services in Magic Kingdom (you can also get one at the other parks) that allowed us to use our stroller as a wheelchair. They gave us a special tag to attach to our stroller so that the CMs working each ride would allow us to keep the stroller in the que or allow us to use an alternate entrance to enter the ride/attraction more directly.

This was a lifesaver for us during our trip! You may want to consider this option if your child tires easily or has difficulty standing for long periods of time. Check out the Disabilities forum here - there's lots of wonderful info there!
