Stroller or not?

Take one. A healthy five year old is capable of walking and might prefer the dignity of being a Big Kid.

:thumbsup2 I agree. If the older child tires then go back to the hotel for a swim or nap. Tour the parks at your child's pace.

We take a Maclaren Triumph for our 5 yr old. There is no way she would fit in an umbrella stroller.

We take a Maclaren double. Which is great, seats recline all the way for tired kids, rain cover will act like a tent in rain showers and its our own pack mule for necessary items/bags.

Of course, we also try to avoid busses like the plaque but its doable.

My dd 4 walked a lot but She sure loved the option to ride when she needed to...last thing you want is a cranky kid that "can't walk another step"

I would definately at least take one for the 3 year old. It is A LOT of walking. The single/double strollers at disney are awesome. yes, they are a rip off and very expensive but they push WONDERFULLY!! We ended up renting one for the 6 year old for 2 days of the 7 day trip and even the 9 year old hopped in sometimes. I could push BOTH of them in the stroller and it still wasn't heavy to push. I would bring one for the 3 year old and rent if you need to for the 5 year old. You may need to only rent for a couple of days like we did.

What about a single stroller with the attachment where your 5 yr old can stand & still hitch a ride????

IMHO this would be the best route. We just got back. We chose not to bring a stroller. We did buy one from a Dis'er who was leaving and it was a mistake. DD 6 had a horrible time with the stroller. She didn't want to walk complained everything she had to stand and wait for something. Once we put the stroller back at the hotel everything was fine. I think if she had to option of ridding standing up that would have changed the scenario. Now that being said I had TS meals scheduled in the middle of our days so we had an 1.5 to 2 hour rest.

Now I only had one with me. 2 kids can definitely change the situation. But if you are contemplating wanting one do it before you get to WDW. The doubles are expensive and a pain to walk with. Good Luck!

I bought two Mac Volos for my (will be just 6 and 3.5 year olds) sons to use in Sept :)

We just got back and my 5 year old DD just gave me this 'look' when I asked her if she wanted a stroller and said 'NO'. :lmao: However, we went at her pace, went back to the hotel after lunch, and took breaks regularly. With a 3 year old, you might want to consider a single stroller, that way the kids can swap out if needed, the platform so the 5 year old can ride sounds good too.

We're a pretty active family, but I was still surprised how exhausted we were every night even with the mid-afternoon pool breaks. It was already getting fairly hot last week; thank goodness for air-conditioned theaters and afternoon shows!
