Stroller necessary at Legoland?

We'll be renting a stroller from Anaheim City Strollers for our days in Disneyland for DS4 (turning 5 in October, trip is in late August.) He doesn't really need it, but will get tired on the walk back. Also, sometimes he gets tired in the afternoon so might sneak in a nap in the stroller. Do you think we'll need a stroller at Legoland or is everything close enough together? Would a stroller be more of a bother than a help?

Legoland is compact enough that you won't really need a stroller. What stroller is really good for, at least for us, was a convenient way to store items such as snacks and extra clothes (if you are interested in the water park). I have taken the stroller each time for the past 10+ visits and have found it helpful.

We decided not to bring our own stroller along this trip (for DS2.5), but to rent one at LEGOLAND instead. We did rent one ($11) for our 1st full day there, and it was nice, but didn't offer the kind of storage that our own does. It had a smallish mesh bag thing on the back with 2 mesh drink holder things. We ended up strapping our soft cooler onto it (awkward) and putting our big bag over the top of the canopy. Despite being a solid, hard molded plastic stroller, it still tended to tip when DS was out of it with our cooler on.

We ended up not renting (or using) a stroller the other partial days we went. DS said he didn't want one on our final day (and always ends up wanting to push rather than ride) so we didn't get one, but I think we should have since he got rather tired and cranky.

Of course our DS is quite a bit younger than yours too.

I say skip it and if he is starting to slow down in the afternoon just go rent one.
